Hey guys, this may be a stupid question but is it possible to install a locker on my Tacoma with the TRD Sport package? I couldn't afford the Sport and the Off Road package in the beginning but now i regret not getting the locker. Also, about how much money would it cost me?

Alright so if i got the, ARB Air Locker - REAR Diff 1996-2010 Tacoma, would it be equal to what comes with the off road package? and is everything id need included with that?

From what I understand from ARB, the locker is sold separately form the air compressor you would need to run it. So you would need to buy both the locking differential and the compressor. They have a small compressor that will run the locker, but if you are considering ever getting a front locker too, they recommend getting the larger air compressor. That larger air compressor can also be used to air up your tires and run small tools. I say larger, but ARB's compressors are really tiny. They will fit very nicely in the engine compartment of our Tacomas.

This will give you the rear locker capabilities of the OFf Road version, but you wouldn't have the same suspension as the Off Road version (from what I understand, someone correct me if I am wrong) The rest of the differences between the sport and off Road I believe are all cosmetic.

the only difference are the front coils and IIRC, the sway bar.

OP, the ARB will give you a setup better than the stock OR locker

O.R.s have progressive rate coils, the shocks are dampened heavier or "tuned" and the stabilizer is a smaller diameter than the Sport.
2009 and up Off Roads 4X4s also have ATRAC, but off course the 2WD don't. ;)

the difference in the progressive coils makes the "tuned" suspension. the shocks from a sport and OR are the same.
