    Guys, if you need to pass an OBD inspection as part of your state registration process, and you are catless or have hiflow cats that are causing P0420/P0430 codes, you need the URD sims unless you want your readiness monitors to show incomplete.

    HPTuners can keep the CEL off, but your readiness monitors will not show complete unless you’re using the URD sim.

    Another thing. The URD sim is used in-like between the rear O2’s, not the front.

    And.. do not just remove the rear sensors because you have a sim, it won’t work, it needs the signal from the sensor to function.

    Lastly, NEVER remove the front sensors.

    Lots of misinformation being spread in this. If you have questions please PM me. If you don’t understand what you’re getting into you’re going to be up shit creek come inspection time and I can’t help you.

    So mine shows complete on all systems. I wonder if it's somewhat different per calibration version. I don't have any cats or O2 sims. Just hptuned

    Are you checking with a cheapy generic OBD scanner? Or the VCM Scanner? I’ve had some folks report complete with generic scanners but those using manufacture specific protocols will show incomplete in back to back scans.

    That was with a cheap generic one yes. I'll go back and see what the vcm scanner shows and report back (be a bit before I get to do this though). I did pass inspection recently but in NY- you're allowed to have 1 system showing not ready and still pass.

    My emissions test passed without sims using HPtuners. I had EL headers and stock ypipe at the time. But clearly HPtuners blocked p420/430 somehow. Or I just got lucky :notsure:

    Yeah maybe ill ask him to build a new Y but put the hollowed-out cat around it to look stock. If I just plug the sensors into the Y will that work? If not there are options to screw in a sim rather than deal with electronics.

    Then they must use the generic protocols (SAE) for their testing stations.

    Check your readiness monitors with the VCM Scanner.

    What all is needed to have around mid to high 300s with the SC for long term use without too many troubles.

    Your gonna need tuning, a larger fuel pump, larger injectors, open up intake, full exhaust with 3" cat back, smaller pulley, stock sized wheels and tires, and maybe meth.

    When people say 3" cat back. Do they mean that? Are they really going 3" ID from the headers back? Seems excessive to me. 3" merge back makes sense I think

    Wondering same. My current exhaust is 2.5” and wondering if I really should convert to the 3” throwing on a roost y and then vband, flex, cat, ext. or should I just keep it all 2.5” and not even worry about it.

    Even the roost y pipe is 2.25" pipes with a 2.5" merge collector that bells out to 3"
    I've never seen anyone actually doing a 3" cat back but it's recommended all the time

    Bad news for the drags next weekend. Really long shackles appear to be softening up the dynamic spring rate a bunch and causing some good axle wrap. Like the rear of the truck rises 4-6” at a brake stand or modest acceleration. Could probably get it to full droop with a hard launch lol. And that’s a lot of droop...

    I feel most including myself are thinking from the merge not the actual full Y back. so after the 2 year cats. Gets tossed around a lot but likely most are thinking merge back.
