Pulley is not bad either. Just have to have the right tools. I haven’t done injectors but they seem pretty easy to get to. Cam gears or transmission valving Im not so sure. Internals are a no go for me.

My suggestion is network. On tw theres regional areas of members. Reach out, meet people. I've met so many local guys to help and trade favors and knowledge. This is really a great community of like minded folks.

Guess I could read the instructions, but do you have any care tips? Can k&n filter wask rinse the oil off?

For the dry one I just use the afe cleaner and rinse with soft stream/warm water every engine oil change. For the oiled one (I previously had used oiled filter but no longer so) I cleaned with afe cleaner then, once dry, oiled. It’s not that bad. Mine even came with a little net to keep bugs out. I’ve used the k&n kit before, doesn’t seem different than the afe one. The key here is to avoid damaging the filter (low water pressure/no scrubbing).

So... no pressure washer? Just kidding. I bought it around Christmas. Wonder if the oil treatment is early models or later ones?

I assume their cleaner breaks down their oil if I opt to go dry style?

What is your exhaust looking like? If you plan on spending the money on an intake, I would recommend an exhaust upgrade as well. Long tube headers and a performance y-pipe....

Injectors and pulley may be out of your experience domain. Honestly if you feel uncomfortable about anything, I would say take it to a reputable shop willing to do work for you. The alternative is of course network and try to have some of the board members help you out as previously mentioned. I have met tons of the guys around here, all very easygoing for the most part and always willing to hook you up with the help sometimes with nothing to ask in return. This community has been great to me, which is why I feel indebted to continue to help however, and whenever I can, even if it is the same question asked 500,000 times. Lol.

Moving forward the mods all sort of compliment each other which is why the guys are talking about exhaust. The engine needs to be able to suck and blow properly, and in OE configuration the design is not meant to hold up to a supercharged configuration. Itll get you by but you are only restricting your setup by doing so and in turn killing your overall efficiency in the process.

Speaking of doing your own work... Is anyone looking to sell a solid pulley puller? Or the install tool for that matter....

Best suggestion I've seen is buy or rent the most boss puller available. @crashnburn80 has a story about a harbor freight puller. Ask him how he knows why he bought a good one.

Let’s just say if you use made in China “forged” HF crap you’d better wear eye protection. Nothing like having a Chinese puller grenade under load. Twice! The USA made Craftsman puller made it seem like a walk in the park.

I bought 2 of the craftsman pullers you linked that were made in the USA for you (I didn't mean to buy two but it kind of happened). Sadly they are both made in Taiwan :/

Whaaaattt??? WTF. Sears has slid down hill, so disappointing. If you look at their business model, it is now property asset liquidation based. A few years ago I bought my kid a full made in the USA Craftsman mechanics tool set to go with the Craftsman tool box I bought back when I was 16. He was 3 at the time when I bought it. People thought I was a bit crazy. I was just sure that the brand wouldn’t be around anymore and if so wouldn’t be made in the USA by the time he was 16.
