TRD/ Magnuson 4.0 Supercharger Tips, Tricks, and Mods

I had both (not installed) and went with the Magnum as I liked the product execution better and could actually access the dip stick. But I was not adding the additional front intake and I’m also not going as extreme as many in this thread.

 

I'D actually be very surprised if they had a had 4hp difference. Maybe age could tell me.

I always like wix. Until someone mentioned the micron filter ability of toyota oem. Size doesnt always matter. Filtration does. Toyota oem is hard to beat for quality.

 

Even if you change a yota filter often it's doing the job the motor was warranted for. I'll never buy a fram again if they're the same price.

If I stray from toyota filters it's for having purple highlights in the engine bay. Royal purple is great stuff too.

 

My custom made 2.48” pulley.
Installing this on Sunday and then it’s off to the dyno!! I’ll let you know how it goes.

I had already sent the original pulley off to get the new one made so the process had already started. I’m not fussed though cause I think I’ll always want the extra power as I’m constantly towing trailers for work.

I am curious if the CSF upgraded radiator will fit your Hilux??? Should your OEM radiator match ours?

At least your truck has an external fuel filter from the factory. Unlike ours.

While not the exact same filter as the one our trucks take, it is the same style filter made in the same factory using the same filter media. This is why I decided to switch to the amsoil filter. Wix filters are also pretty good though, I am willing to bet they filter better than the Toyota filters. The one thing the Toyota filter has going for it is that it has a lot of Sq. inchs of filter media, but again it isn’t able to filter the smaller particles as well. I will say I was surprised to see how well the chevy filter did @ 20 microns. Not too shabby.
