I did this, but the other way around with my 2006. Brought up a truck from Wisconsin, best vehicle purchase I ever made. Total cost to me was $22500, I eventually sold the truck up here almost 2 years later for $25,000!

There are websites that help, I used www.riv.ca but that the Canadian version. I had to pay my taxes but because I was out of state didn't have to pay local taxes. I took care of all the shipping and import documentation. And as long as it's assembled in North America there is no duty. You'll likely have to pay to inspect and register it in the states but this really isn't as hard as you think!

Some Canadian dealers would likely even help you, the American dealers don't want you to buy up here because they're losing a sale. Call some Canadian dealers close to the border and you may get some free advise from them!

*****CANADA TO USA 2023 Tacoma, Access Cab, TRD OFF ROAD 6MT —. Wanted. Preferably New! I live in the USA and want the buy a 2023, tacoma AC, 6MT off road version bc I want the 6 foot bed. I suspect it’s a lot of effort, but can it be done? I have cash ready and jump on a plane and fly up there and drive it back! Just hoping someone here knows if it can be done. Thank you!

I don’t think this can be done . I own a 21 ACLB manual and it doesn’t have TPMS as it’s not required in Canada . I don’t think I can import it to the US as TPMS is required their . Seems only the manual Tacomas for some reason here don’t have TPMS .

Why dont you just add a locker to the sport ac manual and switch out the fender flares and hood swap someone?

I don't know the reason but my '23 TRD OR AC doesn't have tpms. I'm quite happy about it since there's no bs when going from winter to summer tires. The tpms tool from Princess Auto here(our Horrible Fright) is $399!

Thanks for the input everyone. I was trying to avoid doing any modding to the vehicle. I’ve just never had good luck with aftermarket mods, no matter what shop did them. And the cost of adding the rear locker, cost of swapping out fender flares and the hood, just started to get a bit too much like the holes in the Swiss cheese lining up scenario for me and my bad luck with mods.

Well you could get lucky and search cars.com like I did. Found mine in Columbus, OH at a jeep dealer. It had been bought new in Canada and sold back after only 7800 miles. Traded to a dealer in Canada, that sold it at auction. Jeep dealer picked it up at the auction and didn't know it was a manual until after they brought it back on the trailer. So it sat there are about 4 weeks before I bought it. It was exactly what I was looking for after having a 16 Sport ACLB 6mt, AND A 21 DCSB auto. They never said anything about fees or taxes paid. And the bank doesn't have any issues with the title they got. I called to make sure of that after they received it. Keep looking their out there!

I just kept searching TRD OR's and looking at the pictures. Found like 5 or 6 true automatics, this was the first and only manual I found. And I was ready to fly in and drive out. I got lucky this one was only like 2 1/2 hrs from home.

Keep looking! They are out there!
