I went with the TRD OR because for the money I think you get a lot more bells and whistles (and I LIKE bells and whistles). Also I test drove the Sport and did not care for the stiff suspension because I traverse a lot of rough wash-board roads. Also "fake hood skewp bruh" reduces visibility over the hood. For what you get in the TRD OR vs the price of the Sport, for me the OR was a no brainer....

Now that you can get the TRD Offroad in the DCLB , thats what I would get

Gotta be able to find a DCLB OR first...or be prepared to wait a long time for one on order.

I have to agree though, the fake hood scoop turned me off too. It serves no purpose, but impairs your view over the hood. I also like the suspension tuning on the off-road better. The OR seems to soak up potholes and bad pavement, while the Sport seemed to skitter over the top a lot more.

Exactly my experience with scoop and suspension.

People seriously have a problem seeing over the scoop? I don't get it...

Calling it a problem might be harsh but it does in fact obscure the field of view, even if to a small degree. It was certainly noticeable from my experience, enough so that I didn't want to deal with it at all, much less just for "decoration."

I'm 5'10" and put 10k miles on my Sport before I traded it and never thought for 1 minute that the scoop hindered my visibility.

The nose on the 16 is already higher and longer than previous models. Adding the scoop in the middle just increases the height a little more and makes it a little harder to see what is close to your bumper. It isn't really "trouble seeing over it" per se...just not as easy to see what is in front of your bumper. For a functional accessory that does something positive for the performance of the truck, I would be willing to accept the minor inconvenience. For a useless plastic visual add-on with no purpose, I am not.

The front end on the 2016 is different than your 2015. Go sit in one and you will understand.

Yeah, how tall are you guys having issues with the scoop blocking your vision ? I never even notice it while driving.

When I was driving down the road, I never noticed it. When I was pulling back in to the dealership, it was very noticeable when trying to figure out where the front bumper was while parking. Especially an issue now that the truck has a fat lip for a front bumper...

Same here. Never bothers me and I'm coming from MINI Coopers and still own one of them. So that's a HUGE change as far as vision directly in front of the vehicle but I don't find it to be a bit annoying. What are you looking for directly in front of you anyway ? When you drive, your eyes should be scanning far ahead of you, not staring at the road directly in front of you. Is it parking where it bothers you ?

Better visibility mo' better for off the road conditions

Get what you want. Take a ride in both. Both come in 4x4.

OR = MTS, Crawl Control, stock Bilstein shocks, locking rear diff., & weak ass all-terrain tires.
Sport = Fake Hood Scoop, stiffer suspension, street tires, & color matched fenders.

I do enjoy my OR. Search the forum for reviews and comparisons, top right corner. You'll see plenty of info on both.
:deadhorse: <------ Always wanted to use this guy. For comedic effect. Not being a dick.

Can't really help you there. I have a 1st gen (99) and never drove a 2nd gen...just sat in one once at the dealership. Even just sitting in them one after another at the dealership a few months ago, the difference in vision was noticeable.

Okay. I don't off-road but I could see where that would be an issue. But I think the scoop would have little effect on the already massive hood.

Might be that I was used to driving a full size before getting a Tacoma.
