I dunno, maybe not. For some reason, I didn't think the 17's are out but then again, they must be.

    one mod at a time!
If you're not into mods or not willing to upgrade your truck to aftermarket accessories and performance then trd pro is a good choice. For me I'd rather go with base off road. Start from there and then make it the truck that you want and suit your needs. That's why i went to OR.

After 8 mo, got tired of waiting for a pro in CO... found 5 online and flew to CA to get it. It's worth it!

I think it's worth it if you want the cement color and leather.

I personally think they look awesome, but I was happy to go with the OR + tech package and make mine look like a pro.

I'll never get the awesome leather, but the Clazzio covers will likely be sufficient for me. Still debating on buying a hood with scoop and getting it painted.... =)

As far as I'm aware, we don't even get the PRO here in Canada. (I may be wrong)

Wrong, we got the 2017 Pro and I don't see why we won't be getting the 2018 as well.

I have a 2016 off road. Love it but I wish I had leather. A lot easier to care for with a dog, and child. The Pros are expensive but nice.

Wanted the Pro but a 6' box & sunroof black truck was a MUST for me so I got the OR.

I've seen one at the dealer and one on the road right by Pearson Airport actually in Toronto. And seen them a few times now at different shows like the homeshow, sportsman show and i think the royal winter fair.

    but holy thread revival haha.

After seeing the Pro in person in cement, don't care anymore. I wanted the pro for that colour but couldn't justify the 13k difference we pay for it here. And then after seeing it in person I do not like it haha. I thought it was much darker than what it really was.
Much happier with my magnetic gray metallic TRD Off road.
The leather is the only part I still really want. But otherwise who cares. With the money I've saved I got a way better suspension system than the Pro has and for less than the mark up on a pro.

Now that the 2018 TRD Off Road has the option for leather, and the Cement color, and black grille, I don't see the point of spending so much for the Pro.

Plus the off road is easier to get for below MSRP, which is difficult to get for the Pro.

I was looking into the ZR1 with a diesel as well until I read about airbag deployments while offroading. Plus, the interior is ugly and I love the new Taco's.

Im really upset by the lack of low end tq in this 3rd gen engine. There are more and more rumors about the facelift getting a diesel. (I know TW says itll never happen)

So I am left hoping there are real changes to the facelifted pro and seeing what the new Ranger Raptor offers.

Ranger raptor could have a diesel with a 10 speed auto, be built for off-road have and have decent tow rating.

The Pro should have the 4Runner Engine since it is a PRO. I love everything about the PRO minus the engine characteristics.

    Sorry for the old bump.

Bringing this thread back from the dead... now that we are a few years out and there are used Pros on the market, wondering what people think about a used 2017 Pro vs a new 2019 OR? In my area I can get these two options for roughly the same price, so no more concern about dealers charging over msrp. The Pro does seem to hold its value more, but getting new would be nice... thoughts?

Same formula as before in my mind. Unless I REALLY just wanted the pro trim, the new OR wins.

Flip side: I REALLY wanted the flat six in my Cayman so I bought a 3 year old 981 GTS over a new 718 that was the same price.

It all comes down to the individual and what’s important or needed.

I'd rather get a new 2020 OR with all the new features of the mid-gen refresh than a 19 OR or a 17 Pro. But given the two, I'd get the 19 OR. Newer features (ie: TSS) in the 19 outweigh the old 17, for me.

Is the pro cool? Hell yes! but is it worth the price? Maybe if you have money coming out of your ass. The pro in terms of bang for your bucks is a terrible choice over the off road. The $10k premium could transformers an off-road in to a much more capable vehicle and even better looking truck.

Leased my ‘17 Pro. Loved it. Went over the miles by 7K miles. And it needed tires. Held its value like a champ...still was worth thousands more than the residual value. I know this doesn’t help much with the ‘19 OR decision. But the ‘17 Pro was fantastic.
