It's a longshot to call it a sedan with a bed, considering the key things most point out when comparing it to something like the ridgeline, which is a car-truck. Tacoma has the frame and suspension to do what it does.

Yes, it's a great truck for people who don't need to haul or tow very much or very often, is what I said. Not "truck stuff". The key here is that most people don't need to tow 8,000 lbs on a regular basis, or ever. No, the Tacoma cannot tow or haul as much as as full sized truck. If you want to haul full grown adults large distances frequently, and tow more than 5,000 lbs, and to plow snow, then don't buy a Tacoma.

    If you need to:

    -Drive to work and back
-Make trips to home depot or do farm work
    -Move a friend
-Carry your 3 to 4 person family
-Tow a boat or even a camper
-Throw your ATV in the back
-Take your truck offroading, camping, hunting or fishing
-Pass the truck down to your child in 20 years
    -Sell the truck, ever
-Not deal with shitty QDR and repairs
    -Last over 100,000 miles

Then the Tacoma may be a good option for you.

If none of that constitutes a truck for you, but you just really really need to be able to tow a horse trailer, look at other options.

    I got it

Did you really just conclude that only the Tacoma is able to last 100k miles?

    TL;DR

The Tacoma is a chick truck. It will do light truck work because it has a bed and an engine that is at least capable enough to do mid level tasks.

I can formulate several lists of pros and cons but in the end, it's still a midsize truck with midsize capability, and there is no arguing that much. That is a positive in certain areas, like off-roading, city parking, overall drivability and garage fitment.

    That's about it.

 And I thought this thread was about someone trying to decide buying a Tacoma or a Silverado. I read from the last page to the first post.

This is why I am driving a Toyota instead of previous AFM Sierra Z714x4 quad cab. I did get rid of mine before it ate a lifter but had to have all 8 Pistons replaced at 89,000 miles. Gotta believe my Tacoma will hold up better.

Nope, but notice you didn't scoff at the mention of using a full size for anything over 5k lbs. Does that mean a Tacoma can't tow it? No, it's just a much better idea in a full size.

Using the same logic, I am saying if you need your truck to last more than a few years for you, you need to consider its QDR. Towing capacity won't save your truck if it was built like shit. I said the Tacoma was a good option for that need. (based on past performance of the Tacoma and other trucks)

I did not conclude it was the only option.
I agree with this post, and I'll let you slide on the chick truck part ;)

Shouldn't you of anyone know manliness isn't determined by the size of your truck? Havent you argued that before?? I had more faith in you.

Maybe the QDR problems are because of how Bros treat their truck :notsure:
This is a good point. You can't always boast QDR and good resale because their benefits come at different times. However I would like to point out the 1st gens that not only are still going strong, but consistently selling for more than 10k

I would say it's the only truck that will guarantee you 200k with only routine maintenance.

Bitcoin. Which is basically criminal now. Not because it's illegal or something, but because it's almost all generated now by bot nets owned by large criminal syndicates. It's the best way to fund crime ever found.
