    Hello everyone,

I'm seriously considering a new tacoma in near future and I just joined to find out more about the tacoma.

I'm mainly getting the vehicle for moderate off-roading purposes and debating between 2017 TRD pro or 2016 Off-road. I understand that towards the end of the summer, the prices on 2016 will most likely to drop and a new TRD pro would be very expensive and hard to get.

But is it worth all the extra money to get TRD pro? Thanks

Welcome to TW. I'd start with an TRD OffRoad. If you need upgrades, you can upgrade anything you want and still stay below the TRD Pro price.

    Welcome.

First the 2016 prices will not drop much if any when the 2017 or pros come out.

The TRD off road is pretty capable for moderate off roading. I think you could save some cash by getting an off road and always upgrade the off road as you go.

Also good luck getting a pro at or below sticker when they become available many dealers slap a market adjustment mark up on them.

Buy an Offroad. You can buy a lot better upgrades for the Offroad for less money than you'll spend on the Pro.

Yeah, the Pro is going to be well over $40k at least.

And it only comes in Cement, Super White, and Barcelona Red.

The Pro is good for a person that wants a completed Mid travel truck. If you want additional lift or enjoy customizing go with the off-road. For me, the build is half the fun.

To early to say. The 2nd gen ranged from 36-38k I think.
However I saw markups ranging from 2k to 10k.

I agree I think I will be over 40k considering a fully loaded TRD off road is 39k.

What are the big differences? How much more do you actually get with the Pro? I tend to think its gonna be pretty overpriced for the benefits you actually get. I could be wrong though

Your not wrong. Uglier grill, ugly badges, to me ugly wheels. And it will have severely overpriced suspension parts.

I actually like the wheels haha but thats about what I thought. Overpriced suspension and then a bunch of little things like badges that don't matter

From what i see a fully loaded offroad is about 39k and if a fully loaded pro is less than 45k, i think its a great deal and very doable.

In reality, i just want the leather seats and the grille in the pro
