Which is equivalent or better than the trd pro fox suspension?

    Kings 2.0
    Icon stage 4
    Fox 2.5

I dont want to downgrade after lifting my pro. Really want to keep the suspension but i need to run the wheels and tires i already have. Thanks.

Pretty sure those are all better than the Pro's.

Any of those are better than what comes on the Pro, they are charging $3200.00 for stuff that can't even be adjusted like a real Coilover. Shit I bet Bilstein 6112's and Bilstein 5160's are better than that overpriced stuff.

I’d probably spring for the kings.

And you’ll likely recoupe majority of your funds in selling the pro suspension.

    I didn’t know king made a 2.0...

Anyway, if you want to lift it, all those are good...

These foxs actually ride awesome as is . I had a 17 trd offroad and did the 5100 and OME Dakars and the pro stock is still far better. I just dont want to downgrade and find out after the first drive after installation lol

I could be wrong. Been searching this site for info and people are saying icon stage 4 is a downgrade for the rears

I have icons all around, I love them... but they’re stiff by nature. Dakars are pretty stiff as well. If you want a softer ride, kings are soft. Icons are stiff.

I own a 15 Pro. Not apples to apples, but my icons outshine my stock pro suspension hands down. I can’t imagine the fox would be that much different.

    lots to come...
I added Fox/pro to my 16 off road and the ride is great. I did not want lift anything much, my goal was to improve the ride, and possibly the value. Not adjustable, but way nicer than 5100s in the ride department. Don't be fooled, this pro suspension is top end stuff, does better exist - you bet.

Fox 2.5 are pretty much identical to what's in the Pro, except the preload adjuster and the Pro also has different valving. And the external reservoir if you consider that necessary and not bling on the Tacoma.

To the OP, fox 2.5 will give you the closest ride to Pro. But none are much / if any upgrade in actual shock performance. Only if you are looking for adjustable preload / lift, or need remote reservoir at the front for the terrain you drive.
King are great, but you'll be sacrificing road performance for a better offroad ride over Fox 2.5.
I personally wouldn't even consider Icon, id consider them a huge downgrade. But there is one pro owner on TW that went to icon.

Pro's fox have have had a lot of time put into the valving for the characteristics of the Tacoma and it really shows when you spend time in one. The hate usually comes from people who don't understand suspension / look for bling / blindly regurgitate other shit they've read.

My thoughts exactly. They are way better than the trd offroad suspension. I love the pros feeling stock.

Great info. I hate to go through all this just for a taller lift in the front and rear just to fit my wheels and tires. Guess ill stick with fox 2.5 to retain the same feel and keeping it “pro”

Not me lol. The icon stage 4 on our 2nd gen is an upgrade over the stock pro suspension on our '17. For a daily driver though that doesn't really see offroad, I def prefer the stock fox though. Plus it was free with the truck :D
