Have a couple questions for anyone who's done their own full rebuild on their blower (replace all bearings) or have seen it disassembled.

Are there holes drilled in the case behind the needle bearings that are usable for removing the bearings with hydraulic pressure? or is removal a hack & pull job? I thought I read somewhere there may be holes there. Holes would be nice, however I have a shop in my garage so I can design and turn/mill/mig weld whatever tooling is needed to remove and install.

Looking at this full rebuild kit from Jonbond:

    http://jonbondperformance.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=10_47_120&products_id=68

it says the bearing retainer for the rotor pack needs to be welded. Is this how the bearings are retained on the TRD SC? The kit fits multiple blowers so I'm hoping welding is not required on the TRD version.

If anyone has pics that would be great. Thanks.

The trd blower is a m90 so i bet there are a few videos/pics out there. The internals should be relatively the same as the trd version. zzperformance.com is a great site for our supercharger. I would talk with stiegemeier.com as they have taken apart quite a few trd superchargers for rebuild and port services. Good Luck

I just did this rebuild a few months ago. No, there are no holes to place a greese fitting like there are on the typical m90 housings. And no you ahould not be welding anyhthing in this rebuild unless its damaged and needs it.

You can rent from nappa a blind needle bearing puller to get those inner bearngs out. Just make sure you line the inside of the housing with somethng soft so you dont damage it then the bearing comes out fast.

Also, just realised how old this thread is. Sorry for the late reply......

No welding At All! A blind bearing puller gets the rear bearing out. They say to Lightly heat the house to pull them out .I did with supercharger still on the truck.Put new bearings in the freezer overnight.Get a tight fitting socket with a long extension.Pound in till you hear a difference in sound and are flush with rear housing.Call TheHighSpeedLab People.....!!!!
