I just received my new TRD skid after the 20% off sale earlier this month... (price was way too good to pass up) - What a beaut!

Unless it's hiding under a flap of cardboard - it came with no instructions...I admit I've not really thoroughly looked around the box, so it could be there. I've seen a few videos and know there are some bolts that need to be removed...not including the ones for the old factory skid.

    Any pdf instructions out there?

More importantly - any tips for a successful install? I've seen here to be aware of torque settings.

    Thanks!

    Yep - good deal!
Yea I did search and find some older threads...wanted to make sure there wasn't anything updated from the 16 instructions.

    Thanks again

Opinions vary on whether to remove the front support brackets. When they installed on my off road they did remove them but on my pro from factory they were there. So I would leave them intact. I figure the guy installing them on my off road didn't know that or was easier to install.

it's a pretty easy install and I did it by myself on a gravel driveway. No jack needed but would've been helpful. Lots of wiggling around for sure, the card board box saved me! Probably faster for sure if you have a second hand.

If your installing it solo use a floor jack with a smaller flat piece of wood to balance the skid plate - take it slow. And add anti seize to the threads of the bolts. That adds some much needed lubricant to get the threads started and doesn’t hurt as far as preventing rust. You want to make sure each bolt is threading in properly to prevent stripping. I had no issues but I’ve read otherwise.

You got this. It should not be too hard after watching a youtube video. I installed full Ironman steel skids by myself.

One quick tip; take a 5mm (I think) allen wrench and loosen the allen screws for your filter trap door. Mine were on there tighter than a virgin's honey pot from the factory. I coated mine with a dab of anti-sieze and reinstalled before I mounted the skid plate to my truck.
