You can also change your oil filter and drain the oil without having to remove the skid plates. Not sure if the SR-5 has a rear skid plate too, but it does have the one covering the oil filter. That alone makes it worth investing in for me. Get a Fumoto Valve to avoid a mess with the drain plug, and a filter release hose to avoid a mess with the stock filters. Knock-off TRD skid plates essentially do the same thing here (I think).

Just something to keep in mind if you are one the fence and think it's just for aesthetics even if you don't "crawl".

I can change oil filter and oil with out removing my skid plate. I am fairly good at changing out on running shoes, bike shoes, wetsuits, etc but I usually put the socks on after the wetsuit.

Edited. I saw you had one posted above and were just commenting about the aesthetic side of the OEM one.

No Worries, I guess I don't understand stickers on a "Skid Plate." My wife was telling me about a kid that changed out of his new Nike's to sliders for PE. I guess I am getting old. Ignore me.

lol, you are good man! Marketing! Toyota selling their brand through advertising and package aesthetics. I got one though and I got nothing against the TRD look. Can't have my knockoff bro grille feel lonely. Mine has a "matte reflective emblem" replacement in the mail currently and I'm waiting to put it up until I get it installed. I was surprised to learn that TRD emblem is actually a pretty sturdy piece of rubberized material and would stand up to enough of what I do. Hopefully. If not, paint it all black ;)

Jacked the Taco up 3 or 4 times, in the front, from the designated spot on the skid. Both wheels off the ground and so far ....so good.
