I like the TRD Sport with the hood scoop! Kinda wish I had it on my limited model...but to each their own.

“tim” is an abstract figure, representing your average, hood-scoopin’ TRD Sport owner.

I'd like to add my detailed, verbose, and carefully researched manifesto to the growing pile of justifications on why its rational to get the Sport trim:

    - I liked it so I bought it. :bananadead:

I also have a TRD Sport. Looks the best bone stock imo, minus the stupid air dam. No cheap looking black plastic anywhere on the exterior. & i dig the scoop, lol. Truck is & will stay 75% stock. Does more than i need it to do. 80% on road. 20% off road. If i want to go “wheeling” i take my Jeep. Fuck your TRD Offroad.

    Great question Ob1,
I honestly can’t tell you why I originally bought the sport model over the rest. Perhaps the fake ram air and overall appearance swayed me? Whatever it was I don’t regret it.

Air Dam is removable I believe and I got a 2nd gen so it didn’t even come on it.. but I get where this dude is coming from

80% on road 20% off and this truck does as much if not more than I need it to

If it gets real hairy out there I simply use my better judgement and go where no Sport or OR would go with this beast!027.jpg

You are paying for the painted trim pieces, hood scoop, upgraded entune and interior colors, optional premium and technology packages and the Sport suspension with stiffer springs and shocks.

I had a ‘17 TRD Sport. I was attracted to the TRD nameplate, options over the SR5 (push button ignition, upgraded Entune audio with navigation, etc.), and sporty appearance—non-functional hood scoop, color match fender flares, color match rear bumper caps, traditional 5-spoke wheel design, etc. My choice was largely based on the looks of the Sport, which I found most attractive of all the trim levels. Thanks to Toyota for a diverse lineup capable of suiting buyers with varying preferences!

Now that I have driven my Sport a month the only thing I HATE about my Sport are the absolute rubbish Firestone tires. How can a company design and build and deliver tires with no sidewalls. No one noticed? I'm not buying that.

I ditched my firestones after the first 10,000 miles, and I wish i did it sooner. I've never seen such a poor performing tire, it sucks at literally everything that you can possibly judge a tire on, except mileage. (It doesnt suck at mileage, but it isnt miraculous at it either.) When I traded trucks I made them swap the new firestones with the half-worn AT3's that were on the old truck. Oddly, it took the sales guy a minute before he agreed to that part of the deal. o_O
