TRD off road has locker, TRD sport has limited slip. That's the performance difference. everything else is cosmetic.

The OR also has the same exact computer simulated LSD that the sport has.

Off road (and all manuals) has bigger differential. Also braking system on OR is a hydroboost, not vacuum.

Don't be ignorant man. I get it. You don't like the scoop or the way it looks but you can't be serious when you say no one wants the scoop. I see a million threads everywhere with OR guys trying to trade for scooped hoods or OR guys buying a sport hood. Regardless of your personal preference, most people prefer the look of the scooped hood and it's ignorant to say otherwise. I agree they the off road is the best bang for your buck though.

Bought my 2017 TRD Sport 4x4 DCSB brand new for 32,500. Same price as the SR5. That's the only reason I bought the truck. Otherwise I was going to get the OR

My Sport is very limited. Probably doesn’t go on as much trails like Off Roads or Pro’s do. I wrapped my flares black so I can be high almighty and fake the funk :notsure:

The 3rd gen TRD OR has off road tuned bilsteins. To my knowledge (could be wrong) 3rd gen Sports don’t have Bilsteins, 2nd gen do. Even then, the 2nd gen Bilsteins in the Sport are a bit stiffer for better on road performance, but IMO all the same as capable as the OR Bilsteins..

    Besides skewp,

2nd gen OR has rear diff locker, 16” wheels, plastic fender flares, off road tuned Bilsteins

3rd gen OR has rear diff locker, 16” wheels, crawl control, terrain select, off road tuned Bilsteins

2nd gen Sport, 17” wheels, painted fender flares, and sport tuned Bilsteins

3rd gen Sport has 17” wheels, painted fender flares, and sport tuned suspension (can’t recall brand, and I don’t think Toyota lists it either)

I bought my TRD Sport recently. It was the first 4.0 V6 Taco they brought to me.. and the only one they had. Transmission shifts like butter and the engine feels very healthy. I got a great deal on it.

If I had my choice I’d go with the OR and will do that next time. I’ve taken my Sport off road a few times for light dirt fun and flipping into 4x4.. it does perfect if you don’t do enough wheeling to need a locker.

I do plan on switching to Bilstein 5100’s at some point.. but I’m pretty happy with my stock Bilsteins for now. No rush.

I also have my opinions on crawl control but I’ll leave that out for now.

Those would be considered a step down from Bilstein? Or no?

Haven’t heard too much about them.
