Bump. I really want this group buy to happen. I'm broke, need new tires, and Treadwrights fit the bill perfectly. As does the timing. Getting those tires possibly even cheaper would be awesome...

I haven't really heard a lot about these tires. Are they any good? If so I think I might be interested. The prices look too good to be true!

basically, they use used tire sidewalls. so alot of people go with the goodyear MT-R sidewalls, or BFG AT/MT sidewalls, or toyo AT sidewalls. so the tire looks like a toyo AT but has the MT-R tread, or BFG AT tread (warden AT). they have been great so far, and the only tire that has more tread depth than them is the firestone destination MT

you pick what sidewall you want when you order. you get like a first and second choice, all 4 sidewalls match as well.

Personally, I called when I ordered mine and spoke with a lady probably 3 times to find out what sidewalls were available at that time. I went with the bfg m/t in a 285/70/17 guard dog. Love them, about to hit my first 1000 miles, street, highway, and woods these thing are great.

How about a conversation about tire casings? My guess is there are more than a few of us considering purchasing these tires on a group buy and if you're anything like me, well its relitively easy to decide on a tread pattern. You either select the most aggressive because you like the look or the performance while offroading (Max Trax, Guard Dogs). Conversley, you may pick the A/T tread design to get better onroad and highway performance (Axiom, Warden, Puma).

The issue for me centers more around which casing to choose for the treadpattern desired. The only tires I have run on my Tacoma were the OEM Bridgestone Duelers(Terrible traction on ice and snow) and Goodyear Duratracs (Wear fast about 35to 40000mi - Great off road). With so little experiential knowledge of lighttruck tires, I feel at a disadvantage trying to decide on casings.

I found a thread with images of many different tires here http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/wheels-tires/38333-tires-tires-tires-tires.htmlthat at least shows all the tire options but aside from load range, I'm justnot sure how to select the right casing for my driving desires.

I am interested in any discussion that would fill the knowledge gap. Somequestions would be; are certain casings prone to balancing difficulty? Issidewall durability an issue among same load ranges? Do certain casings tend torun aired down better than others? Are certain casings affected by temperatureextremes more or less than others? There are likely other questions I haven'teven thought of so please chime in.

they are good. they are also a pretty high end tire, so unlike the BFG's, which have some problems being balanced when new (sometimes), they balanced with very little weight. i shouldve got mine mounted with white letters out though.

I might be interested in some 315/70R17 GUARD DOG's especially if the pricing is even lower. They are $159.00 right now
