Anyone have experience with the Tread Wright 265/70R17 WARDEN A/T (E) as a daily driver tire/part time off road? Looks to be a BFG a/t pattern and I know people get 60-80k miles out of the BFG.

These are already super cheap, but if we could get free shipping or something that would be awesome. Hope we can get a group buy going.

Well, ordered a tire to match the 3 I picked up used for a steal. They'll be mounted on my 4runner within 2 weeks, going to be driving it on a 1000 mi round trip up to oregon for thanksgiving so I'll report on my findings.

The website shows: Outer Diameter: 34.7"

But the 285's show 33.2 and it looked 1 1/2" bigger than 33/12.5/16's off the rims...

Build thread in sig... 4-link long travel
When I got the Guard Dogs, I was hoping to get Nitto Terra Grappler casings, but at the time they only had the nitto casings in 315. I was in the market for 285s. My second choice (which I got) was the BFG AT casing. I do not like the BFG AT tread, however, it is a very good casing. it is durable, but the selling point to me, over the Toyo casings, was that the BFGs have a larger rim guard. If you wheel rocks, or your rims ever comein contact with hard surfaces/obstacles, the extra rim protection is worth it.

after being mounted on sport wheels, my 285 guard dogs measured exactly 33.5''

Perfect, this is exactly the kind of discussion I hoped the post would generate. Great info about the rim guard.
