Did you weld on your own spindle gussets?

Yeah, if you can call them welded.
Had a little bit of help, but it's ugly. I don't think I'll attempt my cab mount relocate anytime soon until I can actually learn and get practice.

I bent my passenger spindle last fall, so I'm not playing around anymore.

    :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

I don't think so. I just replaced 4 bad balljoints and the LCA bushings... my old stuff was beat to hell, and the driver front cam bolt and tube were a bitch to coax out of there. I used half a tube of anti-seize during reassembly. I'd have used more if I had it!

How much if a pain was it? Did you preheat the spindles and slowly bring them back to temp, etc?

Heated in the oven at 300 for an hour, welded it on and let it cool before cleanup and paint. Not too bad.

Well, I desperately need an alignment now and my truck is loud. It's hard to get a good sound clip with all the wind we've got out here, but I'll get it eventually.

Got an alignment this afternoon. They couldn't wrap their brains around adjustable upper control arms. I explained everything to them before I left the shop and said they can call me if they have any issues/questions. Go back to pick up the truck and first they don't have a print out for me so they put it back on the rack. They pull up the numbers and turns out they gave me a half-assed manufacturer tolerance alignment with all camber/caster adjustments made at the LCA cams. They couldn't get caster where I wanted it, and they kept bitching that my requests didn't even matter because "if you hit a curb it'll be out of alignment anyway"

They were the only shop around with an alignment tech working today, so I had no choice but to deal with it till I can find a real shop. It's driveable though! The kings ride a billion times better than the old OMEs I had, and I can't wait to get them off road.

Gotta find a good alignment shop soon since there are so many curbs out here on the way to the mall. :p

I knocked my alignment out on a speed bump. I was behind a buddy in a lowered Jetta and him practically stopping at everyone it annoyed me so I slammed on the gas and blew by him while going over the speed bump around 35-40 mph. I dont think I had my UCA torqued down tight enough and it moved a bit. I loosened it moved it back and torqued it down properly. No issues since.:D

That's a good deal... looks loud lol

The muffler on mine is way larger than that and it's loud af in the cab. I don't have the tailpipe on mine though since I've got a high clearance bumper and the tailpipe is designed to exit out the side like the stock exhaust would have. I need to put a turn down or go over the axle and dump from there to see if it cuts down on some of the cab noise.

yea, mine is just cut right after the axle... but I would rather it dump before the axle...

Not a bad price for it, not sure how long he has had it, but I think he is coming to Gilmer this weekend... so may just have to take it off his hands.

As well as attempt to install it at Barnwell... because why not right?

it's easy to install, just take a tarp or something to put on the ground. 14mm or 9/16ths and some good pliers to pull off the rubber hangers is all you'll need.

Yep, I have done enough exhaust swaps on my previous cars that I can get them done pretty quickly.

A good channellock wrench makes removing those hangers super simple.

Sent him a PM to see if he is coming to Gilmer or not...

I used some giant channel locks, they kick ass on those hangers.

My cab is loud under acceleration, and I've got a ton of sound deadening on the truck like you do. I dunno if Olivia is going to appreciate riding in the back of your truck after that addition! Since the cat back is easy to swap you could always try it out and remove it if it's too much.

Yea, between the road noise, the tire noise, and everything else that makes noise... who knows.

    Guess we shall see though.
