I think we're gonna have to take the trucks out and get some new pics tomorrow. I've been playing around with the drone @MellyMel got me for Christmas and am excited to get some badass footage.

THANK YOU SO MUCH @trekker ! I truly appreciate all the hard work you put in to getting that bumper on. And I appreciate that you did the cutting part when I wasn't home :anonymous:

It looks amazing - I can't wait to start adding more stuff to it!!

He's working on it as we speak! He did find his extra bracket, so he is going to try to make that work.

That was not as fun as getting the bumper on, but the job is done.

Took everything apart and tried to figure out a way to reroute the existing wiring harness from the hatch to the bumper. A quick peak inside revealed that was going to be a bigger pain in the ass than I wanted to deal with, so my solution was to extend the existing wiring harness to the camera from the hatch. Basically I did what the RSO kit does but without their mounting bracket. I used the leftover bracket from my pelfrey relo kit that I luckily kept in my parts pile for the past few years. Of course that bracket didn't fit the camera, so I had to get tricky with that too.

The wiring harness that needs to run from the stock location in the hatch to the bumper swing out:
    20190127_132633.jpg

I didn't have enough wire so I picked up this 5x18 at Lowe's to make the install easier. Fishing these wires through the hatch area is a bitch. The harness that needs extending is only 4 wires, so there's an extra one here for shits and giggles:
    20190127_162447.jpg 20190127_162228.jpg

Tested the new harness before soldering... success!
    20190127_144049.jpg 20190127_151644.jpg

Then I had to fill in the hole in the hatch left from the stock camera housing. I used some thin aluminum and cheap adhesive in case this thing needs to come back apart:
    20190127_142027.jpg 20190127_150021.jpg

Like I said earlier, the camera doesn't fit the bracket I had... so my solution was to use the clamping force of the camera body and the wire harness plug to sandwich the assembly in place in the bracket. I accomplished this by drilling out a round plastic spacer I had lying around and ground it down to the right thickness to allow the plug to lock into the camera and hold itself steadily on the bracket:
    20190127_160839.jpg 20190127_160823.jpg

If I didn't stop drinking beer, now is when I'd have two opened at once.

ETA: the relo bracket is held on to the swing out with adhesive tape just like the one on my truck.

    More goodies for the 4R!?

Powertray shows up this weekend and then I can begin to tackle the electronics and cleaning things up a bit with a Switchpro.

Nice! @MellyMel's 4r is going to be so different next time I get to see it. I have my powertray sitting in my parts to be installed pile. It will be a nice setup if I ever get to install it. Right now all parts not installed are at risk of being put up for sale if/when money starts to get tight.

If I have to sell anything I'll re-buy them once a paycheck is coming in again. Better than having to sell the truck if I dont have the funds for the payment! Doing everything I can to prevent that right now. I've got a while until that desperation comes into play.

Dude have some dignity... sell your body before you start selling truck stuff :p

Hopefully things look up sooner rather than later and it's a non-issue. Good luck man.

I tried selling my body, it ended up costing me money!

I'm saving my pennys and am not that worried about it yet. Also have amazing parents that will help however they can. My mom just bought my new pup a new crate since he was outgrowing his small one so I didnt spend money on it. I have a couple jobs in the works and know of at least 1 or 2 more that will likely be hiring in the next couple of months.

I always plan for the worst so I'm not caught off guard if it reaches that point. Honestly the RTT will be one of if not the first things to go up for sale. I've been thinking about selling it for a while because I've been wanting a different one and I also have the ground tent for multiple night stays. Once it gets warmer I want to try out hammock camping also.
