    No worries at all brother...

    1. How well did the truck sit/ride with the 63 swap once you installed the swing out bumper especially with the spare tire? Saw where you are getting a new one so you will lose the spare tire capability. Is losing the spare tire storage an issue with you? The Chevy leaf springs have a higher load bearing capability than the stock springs or Dakars for that matter. The truck didn't sit any different once I installed the rear bumper because when I did the 63 swap, me and my buddy that helped me with it set it up with all the normal weight I would carry on a wheeling/camping trip. Losing the spare isn't an issue with me as I am building a bed rack that will carry the spare.
    2. Why did you remove the overload spring? Were the pictures at Lazy Springs taken with the overload leaf removed? Overload was removed because it's completely unnecessary withe the 63's on these trucks.
    3. How well do you think the 63 swap would work for towing my off-road trailer link and link ? You would be fine, however, I would recommend running the 4+1 leaf pack without the overload for even better load bearing capacity for towing.
    4. Did you make any changes to your drive shaft (alignment or adjusting drop) after the 63 swap work? Just carrier bearing spacer.
    5. How much was the re-gearing work with ECGS if you don’t mid my asking? Did they do anything else besides the re-gearing? Considering having ECGS do the same for me although I am only running 33’s (used to have BFG LT265/70R16s and now running 285/70/R17's Falken Wildpeak AT3s). ECGS quoted me $1813 for the regear to 4.88 (front and rear). I drove up and was on my way home with new gears installed less than 8 hours later. Total out the door cost was $1851.
    6. Who did the Orange Virus Tune for you? Orange Virus did. He sent me the files and hardware and I flashed my ECU with my laptop. It's the only way to do it.
    7. Appears this post was about the Orange Virus Tune also: “Waiting for the OVTune to show up before I decide if it needs it. I have the 6MT so I am on 4.30s now.” What does 6MT refer to? Did you re-do the OV Tune once you got the 4.88s installed? 6MT means I have the 6 speed manual transmission. Did not need to reflash the tune after gear install.
    8. What was your gas mileage before all the mods? Do you think the OVTune has contributed to your gas mileage increase or was it primarily re-gearing? I am getting 12-14mpg even in town with my truck and it really sucks (highway isn’t any better). Was only getting about 14-16mpg before I put on the 33’s. Any advice/guidance on getting it up where yours is at would be more than appreciated. Before doing any mods to the truck my gas mileage stock was 16 in the city and 19-20 on the highway. After the initial lift and upgrade to 33's, mpgs dropped to 14 city and 17 highway. Bumpers, armor, 35's, bed rack, tent, etc. caused the mpgs in the city to drop to around 13mpg and 14-15 on the highway. After the Orange Virus Tune mpgs went back up to 15-16 in town and 16-17 on the highway. After the regear, mpgs are 18-19 in town and 17 on the highway.
    9. Which variant of the SPC upper control arms did you install? The only one for the Tacoma with the adjustable ball joint.
    10. What was the reason you changed out from the OME Nitrochargers and 886 coils? Did the ADS coil-overs increase lift and or clearance? Did you get the ADS 05-16 Toyota Tacoma Bolt-in Shocks or a variant with a different coil-over? Is the coil-over rated at 600lbs or more? I looked at the specs for the ADS 05-16 Toyota Tacoma Bolt-in Shocks and specs state it only has a lift range of 2.5 inches so wondering how you got 3” true lift. Ride quality. The ADS coilovers are what Jesus would put on his rig. Mine are the bolt in, but I had ADS custom tune them and include a 700lb coil spring. The coilovers can be adjusted to give 3" of lift.
    11. Is the Instant Air Supply 10lb CO2 kit for tires only? Tire, air tools, blowing dirt out of the tent, etc...
    12. No ARB lockers, right? Just factory e-locker in the rear. Didn't go ARB because I am going to swap to solid axle soon and the 1 ton superduty Dana 60's will get the ARB lockers.

      Personal Items
    1. Is Trident904 somewhat of a job description (warfare insignia for instance)? Certified mammographer or practicing professional? It was my callsign in the Navy. I am a freelance mammographer because I like big ol' titties and feel that being actually certified puts too much responsibility in my hands. (See what I did there?) Freelance is where it's at.

Are you coming to the AOP meet in April?

Working it. Gotta figure out how to slide it past the game warden! She looks in my safe with 30 plus guns and turns to me and says, "When did you get that one?" Not a clue about caliber or anything else but deadly on the draw.

Again, thanks very much for the thorough answers and quick reply.

Still can’t figure out why my MPGs are so low especially when I consider your stats. Possibly overall extra weight with dual battery system (third deep charge battery in back seat), hard topper for the back, CBI bumper rear (front one is Relentless aluminum), sliders, three skids (one aluminum), winch and spare tire on back. Any ideas?

ECGS – Knew I would end up spending some money (eventually though). Potentially want to combine with ARB locker install. Currently pouring a bit of money into a 79 Chevy Cheyenne square-body step-side but what’s a few more thousand here or there!

Can I get your POC and/or link for Orange Virus Tune.

Where did you end up getting your ADS coilovers from? What was their price?

I did a lot of looking at the Martin Crawler when I first got my truck and was thinking about a long travel build. Decided to go my route as I intend to use my truck more for hunting trips out west and a lot of travel than strictly off-roading. Most certainly will be looking forward to seeing what you go with from Martin Crawler. I still don’t see any dual transfer cases on their web site for our 2nd and 3rd Gen Tacoma’s (same was true years ago). How far have you got in conversations with them?

As I mentioned on the AOP thread, 85% yes, especially since it is only 70 miles from Huntsville. Of note, Pittsburgh, TN is the location for the foundry that makes the Lodge Cast Iron cookware. They have a pretty cool tour. Will continue to touch base.

South Florida needs bigger hills. Can’t get fully flexed anywhere out here.

Test fit 37’s today. Trimming the fenders to accommodate. Gotta finish up tomorrow and shave the bumper a bit.

35’s are going on mine soon as these 33’s are worn out, I don’t think it’s that big of a deal like most make it seem. Hell I have 285/75/16s on stock suspension, and they fit just fine.

Can’t wait to see how the 37s look.

These 3rd gens have a ton of room in the wheel well. Fitting 35's on my 2nd gen was a bitch!

Sweet! I might be going the proline route then. Was the install pretty simple? It's supposed to just bolt on with no cutting or trimming isn't it? Your build is basically my dream build.ha I have Magnetic grey though. I didn't like the quicksand at first but now its my favorite color on these pick ups. Kinda wish I had it now but the wifey likes the MGM so its all good.
