I’m taking my Tacoma to theTail of the Dragon next weekend to attend a wedding at the Iron Horse Lodge. Any nice off-road trails in the area? Bringing my truck to carry wedding supplies, but would like to do some simple, backcountry exploring while I’m there. Somebody mentioned Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest has some nice dirt/gravel jeep trails.

    Thoughts?

    Bob

There are a couple of nice National Forrest/Park roads in the area.

Two head out of Cades Cove in the Park, The longer of the two actually comes out on the Tail of the Dragon.

Please note that they are ONE WAY, the direction of travel is supposed to be from Cades Cove out.
