When you plan on installing. I got the same one. Planning on replacing the grease?

Probably in two weekends from now- this weekend going surf camping for my birthday! I haven't heard anything about having to replace the grease... What's the story with that?

I've just heard it isn't the best and does not allow for easy spooling. I plan on replacing mine just for some peace of mind.

It's got shining reviews on Amazon, one even says it spools very easily. The ratio of good to bad reviews is easily acceptable to me. Not planning on using it more than once a year- I'm stoked on it. Can you provide a link about the grease replacement? I can search when I get home from work if you don't have it handy.

@Delta00 Let me know how it goes, I plan on just running mine as is- if it turns into a problem, then I'll replace the grease.

As far as the clunk goes, it's back and louder than ever- and easier to replicate & happens all the time. It happens more often while driving with a passenger- which makes me wonder... It still sounds like the truck slides to one side while turning one direction, then slides back upon turning to the other direction...

Going to get my oil changed maybe sometime this week- ought to just ask them while my rig is on the lift- to check all the frame mounts/body mounts & grease then change the front leaf spring pins so I don't have to.

Makes me weary of installing extra weight with the winch, until I figure out this damn clunk.

Yeah, I can feel it. And it sometimes fees like it comes from the passenger front shock area, other times it may be the driver? It's hard to pinpoint. It is easy to replicate when turning off of a main street and there is an elevation change on the road

Took off the sway bar- eliminated my clunk! Might get new bushings for it and reinstall because of the weight of the camper. Installing winch now!

Got my winch installed, but I can't spool it all the way in- the stupid hood latch support is in the way. I've still got about 20' of rope left. Is this something I can do without? I'd like to just cut it at the top below the bottom of the latch bracket and undo the bottom bolt.

So, I've opened up a can of worms... I'm looking into wheels/tires.

Debating on 285/75/16 or 255/85/16. Rims would either stay stock with the pizza cutters, or looking into 8.5" wide steelies with either 3.75" 4, or 4.5" backspacing. Just cheap, black, steel rims.

I rub frame at full lock with my current 265/75/16.

Tire options so far haven't been narrowed down. I've had a great experience with the duratracs, but have seen a lot of sidewall issues on this forum.

I'm always carrying the weight of the camper, and still air down, so I'm looking into something with tough sidewalls. Going for a year nomadic starting in November, living out of the truck. Will be doing quite a bit of offroading, but also a ton of highway (across the US & Canada).

    Anyone want to chime in?

Those scs look great on your truck too. Have you noticed any rubbing? Did you trim anything?

Only rubbing on the front mudflaps, had to do an axle relocation for the rear because of the dakars moving the axle a bit forward. Other than that fits pretty nicely.

Nice, my front flaps got ripped off. Won't have any issues there.

Thanks for the input. I'm set on sticking with 16" rims for sure, and I'd like to step it up in size from what I'm running now. Pretty stoked on 33s, but that maybe opens another can- regearing?

I run the Cooper Discoverer ST/MAXX in 255/85R16 on stock rims. Icon shocks and OME Dakar leafs. My every day load is a topper, birch cabinets/platform, fullsize spare, 5 gallons water, 10 gallons fuel, hilift jack, shovel, bag full of hand tools, etc. I air them down all the time for sand and rocks. I have been all up and down the beaches of Texas. Most of the roads in Big Bend National Park. White Rim Trail, Imogene Pass, Engineer Pass, Cinnamon Pass, and many off road parks. I have been with many people who required tire changes and plugs. Never my Coopers. We have been running them on all 33 of my pickups at work, (F250 CC and 2500HD). None of which ever see pavement, just dirt, mud, and rocks. No failures.

Rocks. At 18 psi they don't squat all that much. Hardly at all really.

Sorry for the photo whoring. I just freaking love these tires! I have just over 22,000 miles on them and they are not yet half worn. Quiet as heck on the street also!

Yeah when I'm loaded, I'm carrying at least a thousand pounds. Starting to look into getting a custom leaf pack built also- the dakars +aal can hold it, but I'll probably look into a more permanent solution.

Things are crazy now with a wedding coming around the corner in less than 2 months..so I'm trying to divert funds to the truck, but weddings are a money pit.
