A bit here and there, I'm a freelance graphic designer, so i just need wifi every once in a while to shoot out a project. But mainly am able to send files from computer to my phone if I've got service. I've got a few long-time clients that know I'm traveling, so all timelines aren't a huge rush, which is nice. But we worked hard in LA at about the top of our careers for the better part of a decade, so we were able to squirrel a bit of cash away for this trip and the future house.

WOW. Just amazed on how much you have traveled on that specific set up. Curious on what you did with your previous camper ?

Thanks! I sold the shell, bed & platform to another Tacoma enthusiast that was going to move to New Orleans from SoCal. Make a trip of it over a few months. Come to think of it, I should have dropped him a line while we were there! Haha

Looks pretty nice. Its great to have the extra headroom in there vs reg shells. I'd ask if the rear window closes all the way and has a lock/key. Also ask about the wondow seals. Side note, if it's lined with carpet its great insulation! Good luck!

Hi friends, many updates to report.

We found a place to land: Franklin, TN. 30mins south of Nashville, TN.

Snorkel install, CBI ditch light bracket mod, camper stored on a frame with caster wheels. Full-time jobs acquired, non-moving house rented.

Next mods: Differential breather extensions: March 2nd.
    Timing belt/h20 pump March 9th.

We've began brewing again, which I'm so stoked about. We just kicked our first Nashville keg, our second is carbonating, & the third batch will be transferred to secondary today.

    Cheers!

Wow! Glad to hear all is well. So is this "home" or just "home for now"? And how's the Tacoma? Total miles?

It’s a pretty good spot actually. We were looking for a smaller town with great access outdoors, there is tons of paddling, hiking, mtbiking, wheeling & camping nearby believe it or not. Also there is industry for us both, wife is a horse trainer, I’m a designer, she works at a barn near Franklin, & I work on Music Row up in Nashville.

We’ll see how it goes, but this could be it!

Truck is great, put on 45k miles during the trip, has about 210k total.

Nice to give the truck a break for a bit, but I’ll have to admit...it looks naked to me..

Thanks! I created it manually using Adobe Illustrator by looking at the towns and routes we took.

Such a cool thread, if you ever sold the camper it'd be nifty to sell it only to someone who will also take a similar adventure, it could be passed around to fellow taco owners until it gets to 1mil+ miles!

Kudos to you guys for taking the time to find a spot to call home!

Haha, thanks! What a concept, the pass-it-on camper.

That said, we’re planning on keeping it for generations in the family, the future kids’ll argue about who gets to take it out for music festivals, the weekend or longer trips. Who knows what the truck will look like by then, exo skeleton, sas monster camper maybe?
