not the burly 200lb work boxes; but just a smaller securable weatherproof box. I roll a $5 plastic bin right now, to put my stinky trail sneaks in and some random small hiking bits, but i want something a little bigger w/ some more kit management chops and something i can secure to the bed with a bike lock or something. Yeti makes a $5M version of an ideal box, but if anyone knows of a similarly functional box that is slightly less expensive, that would be cool.

    Yeti thing (loadout go box):

that’s what I’ve got for a bugout box for my mtb gear. I took the latches off of one side, and tied some paracord loops through the lock holes on that side to work as hinges. The other side still has the latches and I threw a couple combo locks on. It’s been out in the rain a decent amount and has yet to show any water inside. 209B70D0-E598-4EDC-AAF5-06C68A7B6756.jpg

Got that plano box also. Though not as rigid as the yeti box it works great.

I use the MTM ammo crates, I've been using them for over a year, for weekly range trips.
They're made in the USA, they make various sizes, and the tops/bottoms are molded so when stacked, they don't slide. They are not waterproof , nothing is, but the lids cover the sides, so water will run over.
Note: These are not near as heavy as a Yeti, but of course much lighter and cheaper. They're strong enough to have 50 lbs, or more, of ammo in them. To be honest, I wouldn't want heavier Yeti type crates, I pack these crates with weight, load multiple crates, multiple times a week. And I hit the gym early AM, don't need another workout, just to get to the range in the evenings. I have multiple roto molded coolers for hunting, I know what a PITA they are to lug around loaded.

I use 5 gallon buckets. They sit on the wheel well bumps. I use a strap around them to the rails. I can access them from the windoors, and they fit through the windoors if I want to pull them out.

Search pelican case on your local f.b. marketplace. The tweakers around here always have a few for sale.

Here is another option. I like that its a lot more durable than the Plano storage truck (which I also own). It has wheels and a handle in case you need to move it with heavy gear inside, its lockable, and its waterproof.

You can get used Hardigg footlockers for about 1/2 the price of Yeti.
