    Hi all,

Just installed 5100 @1.75" and 265/70/17 DynaPro RF10 on stock rims. I also have the alignment done but now the steering wheel is pulling to the left. If you let go of the steering wheel the truck will definitely go to the left side of the road.

Also, look like me front tires/wheels are NOT perpendicular with the ground (see pic). Please HELP. Thanks.

Looks similar to what happens when you crank your tortion bars on other trucks (rangers, etc).

Caster can be set a bit higher. Every truck is different but with the 5100's set at 1.75", I think you can get casters to at least +2. Looks like the alignment shop didn't adjust your camber and that's why your tires look like this from the front \----/

I'm dealing with this as well and with the same tires. Alignment place says it's the tires, so it's at the tire place getting them checked out. Your cross caster isn't bad at all, so it shouldn't be that. I agree that your camber is way too high, they should be able to adjust the camber a lot lower than it is.

Way too much positive camber. Take it back. Ask for 0 camber, 0 toe, and as much caster as they can throw at it. I would do it quick before the outside edges of your tires start to wear.

What is wrong with it? Balancing issues?

Typically with a balancing issue, you'd get vibrations.

I went through 6 Dynapro ATM RF10s in 7 months and had 10 trips into the shop, 4 re-balancing appointments and 2 road force balancing appointments and had constant vibes, poor road handling issues, etc,. Had the dealer look at my truck and re-torque everything in case something was loose, had the alignment checked and re-checked, and it was my tires the entire time.

I bought them at America's Tire (my local Discount Tire) and had them replaced with Cooper ATPs instead in the same size. I chased every issue, alignment, wheel balancing, suspension issues and it all came down to a poorly manufactured tire, or 6 of them to be exact. I talked about the issues to 4 or 5 local tire shops and none of them sold Hankook truck tires, and all said they're decent car tires but their truck tires, specifically, are low quality.

I had the Cooper's installed and all my issues have disappeared with just that change to my truck. Lots of people run them on TW, but it's the worst tire I've ever owned. Supposedly the LT tires are better constructed, but I'll never find out. My P265/75/16s were awful.

    Oh NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

My truck starts to vibrate after new tires.....thought I need alignment done but wait until I install the 5100. Got the alignment yesterday and now it is too much positive camber and pull to left..the vibration is still there (@about 60 mph). Will have it realign on Friday to find out....

I got mine from Discount Tire as well but the WORST part is it is 50 miles away from home. urggggggggggggggggggggggg

    Update:

Brought the truck in for a Re-Alignment (same company but different store so NO charges except time wasted). better experience and better result (but not 100% satisfied though). New alignment numbers as follow:

    Caster:
    Left: 1.26* Right: 1.73*
    Camber:
    Left: 0.13* Right: 0.14*
    Toe:
    Left: 0.03* Right:0.01*

Truck looks GREAT now, no more \ / stance, drives nice, corner nice...I'm NOT 100% satisfied because I told him the steering wheel is off-center. Service writer said when the alignment is corrected the steering wheel should be straight. Wrong, because it is not. Steering wheel still points to Left (just few degrees) while the truck tracks straight.

QUESTION: Can I adjust the steering wheel to make it center WITHOUT messing up the alignment (camber/caster/toe).

    Thanks.

Short answer, no. You will have to mess with the toe. Incorrectly set toe eats up tires faster than camber will.

Also better alignment numbers though it can be a little better. I know each truck is different but when I had my 5100's set at 1.75", they were able to get my caster just above +2. Nothing more annoying than a misaligned steering wheel.

Can I lengthen one end of the tie-rod and shorten the other end of the tie (as long as I keep the Total Toe the same) to fix this Misaligned steering wheel? Anybody tried this before?

I would just take it back to the first shop and see if they increase caster some more and straighten your steering wheel.

Update - This is how it went down..

1 - After I got new tires installed I went in for an alignment at Graham Tires. They did a crappy job so i) the car pulls LEFT if you let go of the steering wheel, ii) to drive straight the steering wheel is at 11:00 o'clock, iii) too much positive camber so the front wheels looks like this \ /. They charged me $79.99 + taxes

2 - Came back 2 days later for a Re-Alignment and they fixed 2 issues above except the steering wheel is at 11:00 o'clock while driving straight.

3 - Came back a week later to have the steering wheel adjusted and they f*cked up everything again. Now the truck feels weird driving it. The steering wheel is at 2:00 o'clock now going straight. I asked and they even confirmed me that the tech test drove the truck after alignment. I guess he drove it in circle so couldn't see the problem

4 - Came back and asked the store manager to drive it. He did and said "yep, it is not right". Let's fix it again. Politely I said "No, thank you. Please refund the fees you charged me". He was SOOOOOOOO happy to refund me the service cost.

Lesson learned. I will NEVER let Graham Tires touch my cars again.
