    Intake, exhaust, lift. Typical stuff.
There's no issue of low oil pressure. Just a low oil level alarm which is pretty easy to understand.

Good Fucking Lord.... I leave to work in the woods for a few days and this is what you guys do to the place?!?!?!?!?
    :crapstorm::bananadead::bananadance::stayontopic:

I had the warning low oil pressure box, with buzzers going off

Not what I experienced. Truck was on, in Drive, foot on the brake stopped. Talking for about 35 seconds then BZZZZZZZZZZZ engine shut off and rolled forward all at same time, and had to mash the brake. That's when I realized the motor shut off. It all happened so quick I wish I could tell you which one came first, buzzer, or loss of brakes(engine shut off). but from my recollection, it was buzzer, then engine shut off.

Thank You! This is awesome. Seems plenty deep and sloped like previous generations. I'd like to believe toyota wouldn't overlook something like this especially considering all their commercials show the tacoma offroad.

Agree. Pan looks to be designed well. Low oil light sensor sits really high, does not surprise me it would go off at extreme angles...

So if I'm understanding this thread correctly Toyota has added an oil sensor to the 2016 Tacomas. That about it?

Thats pretty much the only takeaway. Somehow people will find negatives from this obvious improvement.

 I might just skip going to a movie tonight and hang out here...

Isn't the 3.5 essentially the same engine as in the Highlander? If so, has anyone gone onto one of those forums and searched for similar problems?

This sucks for the guys and gals with a 2016....

Just did a quick Google search. Seems Siennas and highlanders are having oil pressure light issues as well. Not sure how long the 3.5 Atkins has been in Toyotas but.....lots of stuff on Toyota Nation about it.

the 16 tacoma engine is not in either of those cars, so it is irrelevant. unless you think we should be googling problems with 1990 toyota camrys and saying that the 2nd gen tacoma has all the same issues?

It looks like the top right picture excluding the cartridge oil filter housing. Cant tell from the bottom left picture did not see it at this angle. Does not resemble the bottom right in any way. Confirmed by physically crawling under the truck and looking at it...

My 14 Subie Outback came with an oil level sensor. It turns on when it is one (1) quart low, meaning >4 qts left in the pan (or at the lower dot on the dipstick). Many people have said that it will flash going around sharp corners at relatively high speeds. This does not indicate that the oil pressure is at all close to being detrimentally low. I would venture to guess that the new Taco is similar, and that the low oil level light has nothing to do with oil pressure. At one quart low (or when the oil level is lower than the sensor) the engine is likely nowhere near starved of oil.

Just wondering does ANYONE on this whole forum know a Toyota Engineer or Toyota Tech?.... or maybe if we could actually ask an engineer/tech a question on oil pans/switches and levels?

    Just wondering?

I sense some hostility ...if so, chill the fuck out bro I'm just trying to help. What's your contribution to the problem? There was reference to the 3.5 in the 2016 being a car engine and that it was the same engine as in the Highlander. Hense my attempt to Google similar problems in the Highlander.

Holy shit lol, nothing in my post was even remotely hostile, stop being so sensitive. Check your purse for some tissues.

You yourself said you weren't sure about the engine, and I told you that you were incorrect to clarify your uncertainty.

I moded 1999 Taco so much it had turned to Land Cruiser
So @05Moose posted this in another thread. Looks like new engine failure. No details except leaky head, but leaky head do happens when you run with out oil or with low oil pressure.
Do tell the details.. Is that your truck ? Is that due to low oil pressure ?
Based on this document (same I took photo of oil pan) this indeed appears to be 2016 Tacoma with V6 (recognize dual VVTi , coolant lines). Congrats to very lucky guy to be the first one to get his engine appart.

What other thread you buffoon? At least link the thread or tell us where to find it so we can take a look for ourselves. Or is this just your new troll tactic?

Or better yet, start your own 3rd gen threads instead of always trolling every real thread on here. Then we can all troll you and say things like...3rd gen truck motor, 2nd gen car motor, deezul suck, I buffoon like BlueT.
