Most of the issues are "one offs" Given the thousands of trucks built there are a few bound to have some issues. My truck has a slight harmonic "tone" between 35-35 MPH. Not worried about it. If enough vehicles have the issue there will be a recall or TSB. Toyota is better than any US company for stepping up and fixing issues now and well in the future...Far better then GM who sweeps safety issues under the rug.

My 2012 needed a new rear hub. That's all I've had done to it.

Don't forget people... Thousands will be sold. If not already. And in this era if there is a problem 90% of people take to the internet to find solutions or other people with the same problem. Even now it's MUCH more likely the average Joe will jump online to resolve or report a problem compared to 5-10 years ago. Those years had their share of problems, we just didn't hear about it (as much or as quickly)

To the OP good luck and thanks for reporting it. This info is helpful for us prospective buyers on the sidelines still!

Coming from the guy who's threads are pretty lacking in substance (spacer lifts, bodybuilding.com and lot of other less than informative posts) with most activity in the 3rd gen section, say what you will about BlueT's distain for the 3rd gen he at least brings some technical/mechanical knowledge to the discussion and a history with Toyota trucks, besides revtek spacer questions and saying everyone who hates on the 3rd gen is an idiot or "troll". @BlueT

You figure it wouldn't do that in the OR version of the truck .. since, you know, it's the OR version and would expect to hit 30 degree inclines and off camber situations.

Well that car [2016 Tacoma] does not look like its really made for steep inclines so I think you have a problem here. I could explain why in 1000 words, but with my mediocre English and Toyota trolls this will turn into flame war (he said, she said). Also unintelligent will claim facts are display of hate.
So instead of wasting 1000 words, I will just post an image and show you facts (you know, because they say "A picture is worth 1000 words")
Here I think you need 2gen truck if you want to climb inclines, here is why...

I've never seen someone dedicate so much time to hating something. BlueT needs some kind of an award.

Well goddam I am impressed with the dedication here. I was literally trying to find this diagram of the 2GR to see how the oil pan is designed/sloped, and where the positioning of the sump is. But I have to believe they tweaked a couple things Before bringing this motor over from the sienna.

OP, considering the strong likelihood that your low ATF and oil pressure warnings were the result of the stall and not the cause of it, would it be prudent to change the thread title to reflect a stalling event instead of a title indicating other issues? Primarily for the sake of anyone else searching for stalling issues but also for the sake of accuracy. Unless proven otherwise I think one has to assume the warning lights came on after the stall as they would do in any other vehicle.

Is it the same oil pan design from the Sienna?
    Thought the Tacoma V6 is a 2GR-FXE.

Good point swimmer, I've got nothing conclusive that low oil pressure stopped the motor. I agree with you about the truck most likely stalling first. Any suggestions on title change?
