Okay Let Me Break This Myth Down To You!!! True Duals On A Taco .1) Wont Sound Good. 2) Will Not Have Enough Back Pressure. 3) Not Enough Room. 4) Will Throw A Code!!!

    1) Bs!!!!!! It Actually Sounds Great!!!!!! I Have My Bck Cats Removed. The Same Concept As Urd Has For $500 I Had Done For $250 Pros: Cheaper Cons: I Can Not Replace It Back To Stock, Altered My Complete Exhaust Set Up.. So If You Dont Want To Go To A Shop I Would Definately Recomend Going With Urd's Y Pipe!

    2) Back Pressure ...... What Do You Think Exhaust Does!!! Gives The Engine Something To Leen On!! And Air To Try To Move Out, Its A Constant Battle!! And It Needs Some... But There Is Alot On The Taco 4 Cats!! C'mon People!!

    3) Plenty Of Room!!!! Run The Pipes Side By Side. Dont Try To Run 1 On The Drivers Side Thats Just Stupid!

    4) Rear Cats Are Not Monitored Period!!!!

What I Had My Local Shop Do Was Cut My Y Pipe About 3" Past My Rear O2 Sensors On Both Sides. Ran The Passenger Side Straight Back To The End Of The Cab. My Drivers Side A Couple Of Bends Similar To The Stock Set Up With Out The Flat Line. And Run It Along Side Of The Passenger Side Exhaust Pipe. You Can Go A Couple Of Different Ways Here. X-pipe Or H-pipe For Alternating Flow To 2 Seperate Mufflers (flowmaster, Megan, Banks, Magnaflow Etc. And Do A Dual Exit.. Or Forget The Y-pipe And X-pipe And Get A 2 In 2 Out And That Will Act As Your Alternating Flow And Dual Rear Exit/ Dual Dumps/ Dual Center Exits....or You Could Also Do A 2 In 1 Out For A Single Side Exit.. Theres Other Things You Can Do As Well Let Your Imagination Run Wild. I Will Post Pics Later.

Hey, that whistle only happens if you open the throttle to a certain point. For me its an indicator of open more or back off, ha ha... But yeah, if I keep it right at that throttle position, it could get annoying. But then again mine being 6 spd, it sounds cool when shifting, especially when passing some of the imports racers, keeps them thinking...:D

Shit im down, but what about pipe bending? Just wondering how to knock that out. Or are we talking about just cutting the cats off and replacing with 2.5" stainless piping.?

Should have.. yeah not sure about that whistle. Guess Auto and Manuall a bit diff in working the RPM power band. I tell you what though, last night I took off like a bat out of hell, ussually I test intake and exhaust once I shift to second gear, well it does no justice till you take it from first and shift though each gear at about 4000 Rpm, then I let off cause I dont want to get cought speeding. Need to find a good on ramp to the interstate that would let me open up to that 70MPH limit, and see what kind of power I really got. But for just having Intake, headers and Exh. and running about 33" agressive tires, must say this truck is quick. IMO...

i dont have a pipe bender.. so it would be a cut and weld back... its an option. if you just want to remove the cats... but you can have them do it with a new y pipe build on... but its your call

Yeah that totally went over my head, as far as an option. The reason you took out your y-pipe, is because the duall pipes you ran. If I just want to remove the damn restrictive unnecessary rear cats, all I need is what, about two 10" long pieces of stainless 2.5" piping, and the tools to cut and weld.

Oh, and lets not forget someone who can handle tools of this such alot better than I,

Dude I know you are going to be busy as hell, but yeah if this is what JHODGE is thinking also, I can look into the shop rental thing. If not, the shop you referred said about $200 for the Y-pipe fab replacement, should be less than $100.00 for them to just cut and replace just the cats. Hmmm...

I will investigate tommorow, both on post shop and all pro. will post with my findings then, and we can go from there. If I do this, I'd like to get it done by the meet. This and my 285/75/16 spare mod will be the final mod for awhille... My wallet is on fire, Ha Ha HA:D

Could not find that auto place on bragg, so no luck with the info on welder or not. Went to All Pro, they quoted 1 Bill to cut out cats, replace and weld inplace 2 straight pipes. Plus agreed to inspect entire exhaust for leaks and if need spot weld any leaks. What you think?

Beats the $469 URD Y-pipe, and why fab a new Y-pipe for $250.00 when all that is causing restriction are the cats...

I will run this set up til later when I can push more air into the motor...

i say do it man!!! im going to very soon. plus its essentially the same thing as the urd y-pipe,maybe a tad more restricted......but i doubt not even enough to tell a difference between 2 pieces of straight pipe and the urd set-up. gonna sound awesome too man!!!

Yeah I will have it done monday morning.... I figured it will be a little more restrictive than the URD Y-Pipe, but then again I am not running forced induction, so restriction is still needed till I get a SC. Then I will run a set up like TACOROCK, but it will be Dual side outs from each side of motor, just cause Im crazy like that...
