I do not want to change out the head unit. I have the premium tech package non jbl with bigger touchscreen that comes stock. I’ve been looking at kicker key a compact pioneer and alpine and I’ve also looked at some jbl. I’m trying to get the best sound with some power for bass to power my new speakers I’ve installed front and rear. My speakers I upgraded to have sensibility of 90-93 dB. Again I’m looking to get a good compact amp that can be hidden away easily and I’m wondering how hard it is to tune an amp without the auto equalizer the kicker key comes with? Also would I have to adjust the amp often or not? These are the factors I’ve thought about before my purchase. Thanks for any help and recommendations guys! Happy thanksgiving! I’ve read and read to the point it’s giving me a headache lol

I’d like to keep it around or under $200. 4 channel amp is what I’m needing I assume to power both fronts and rears that I’ve recently upgraded with focal integration isc 165 in front and infinity reference 9632ex rears. Both are 6.5 inch and both were major upgrDes I can just tell when not cranked up they are not getting the juice they’d prefer

There is a class D Kenwood KAC-314 600 w multichannel amp at Best Buy right now going half price at $100. @destin_meeks any dealings with this amp? Good for my needs?

Would this amp be as good as the Picasso by soundstream recommended in above post?

Yeah for a hundred bucks it’s a steal. I have not used this specific amp, but I have used the monoblock sub amp several times. I would jump on it.
Just Jeep in mind it will need 8awg power wire to the battery, 4ch RCA cables, and speed wire to bring the amplified audio signal back to the radio wiring. So in all, you’ll spend the same if not more than going with the Key or similar brick amp

As far as compared to the previously mentioned amp, Soundstream is pawn shop product in my experience. They’re better than boss and power akoustic, but not up to par with the big brands. They’re also much cheaper, so it’s not surprising or upsetting. As long as your expectations are set right, I guess any brand can be good lol

@destin_meeks or others with knowledge so would you say for my speakers and setup I mentioned would you recommend for the money the $100 Kenwood KAC-314 the $160 kicker key or $200 infinity kappa k4 the $170 Rockford Fosgate prime rx300 or $160 alpine power pack? Sorry for all the questions but these are the ones I’ve been eyeballing and am about to pull the trigger soon and wanna get the best bang for my dollar. I’m looking for as crisp clear sound possible and a tad bit of clean bass on a $250max budget for amp which will keep my total speaker and system upgrade under $500. Also ease of setup should be considered bc I’ve never installed an amp. I did however install my speakers with ease following a couple threads on the board. lol obviously I don’t care about keeping it the same brand as I have kicker Ks Subaru tweeters focal integration front and infinity reference rears. I’ve purchased the speed wire and rca cables. I bought 10 awg wire but if need be I can take it back and exchange it for the 8awg no problem. I bought “royal cable” wire fwiw. What my local shop sold me a couple years ago when I installed my outdoor shop speakers by Pyle before they shut down It’s all weather oxygen free

Funny, it doesn’t sound like a pawn shop amp and I have spent a shit ton on car audio over the years.

I’m glad you’re happy with it! No need in over-spending if you don’t have to. Never heard that lineup so good to know they have a thumbs up from a member!

I’m actually considering this amp. It’s got some pretty good reviews online tbh. I think it may be a little more powerful than my needs is my holdback on it. I think it looks badass and love the design of it. I’m older guy though. Almost 40 and not looking to bump. Just good clean quality sound with little bass where needed. I’m used to factory stereo systems in my vehicles. My Chevy Duramax does have a factory Bose system though as did my previous Nissan Armada and they put my factory tacoma system to shame

I have had mine since 2015 and I have no mercy pumping it up, with no issues, and it sounds great. I also have a mono sub amp from the same product line in my Lexus running a sub and that also works great.

My system sounds just as good as anything I’ve ever had and I used to have the high end Rockford and PPI stuff when they were big back in the 90’s.
