Bought my truck from a local dealer 2 months ago. Took it in monday and the service guy said they would have to look at it first. Came back 30 minutes later and said he'd order the parts. Taking it in tomorrow to get it done! I had a copy of the updated 2011 TSB in hand but didn't even have to produce that or use the "harsh ride" phrase. Simply told him I was concerned about future towing and hauling that I'd be doing.

Question 1: Anyone got the link to the 2011 TSB?

Question 2: Are any of the 2011s done already? If so, I guess I will see 4 leafs right?

I should have mine back tomorrow afternoon so I will post up pics and let you know. I'll actually be checking for the 4 leaf pack before even driving off from the dealership.

and also read this thread http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/133425-just-got-rear-leaf-tsb-done-but.html, there are others who have already gotten it done on 2011s and it should definitely be 4-leafs.

Another thank You for this information, I have the 2011 with the TRD and V6 Towing Package
Does my truck quailify for this update?
sorta figured with a towing package it would already have the heavy duty suspension

The TSB printout is in that thread. Check it against your VIN and if it matches then your truck is eligible for the TSB, assuming your truck's showing signs of "harsh ride while hauling a load"
Or you could just look at your leaf pack and if you only have 3 leafs, you don't have the upgraded 4-pack

I called Toyota Corporate and was told they have no power over the dealerships therefore cannot tell them to do the TSB.

I emailed my dealer's service dept and stated that my Truck's rear suspension bottomed out when towing a travel trailer with a tounge weight of 350lbs. I included the TSB. Got a call an hour later stating that the parts were ordered. Didn't even check the truck.

I just returned from the dealer for several things, all TSB's... all accepted by the service manager, but declined by the "official" Toyota certified platinum extended warranty.

Their reasoning was that it actually has to break for them to actually cover it.

I am totally dumbfounded by the fact that I bought a truck that I can't actually use as a damn truck.

I guess if your vehicle is still under the original warranty.. do it now.

That is what TSBs are. They are solutions for specific problems that can occur with a customer's vehicle it doesn't mean that the problems will occur.
