got my rear TSB done today, I asked for the alignment printout, tech said they did all that was required on THEIR TSB report. should I fight this since the 16pg tsb lists an alignment for my model truck.

I thought the TRD's did not get anything changed up front, so no alignment for you.

The TSB states that an alignment is required.

even under the TRD section of the alignment section, it states specs for a front end. I didn't see any disclaimer saying it was not to be performed.

I would fight it since it says in the TSB that there is an alignment included. Even though nothing gets changed it is still in there. Might as well get a free one. I was told the same thing but I never got it done. Just don't have the time. Them not changing the front shocks does not give them the right to not do everything that is stated in the TSB.

They'll be buying you two new tires in 6 months if they don't do it.

The TRD will still have a change in the alignment.

They didn't do an alignment on my non-TRD and my front tires were bald after a few months. I went back and raised hell and they replaced the front two and did an alignment then, but I wish I didn't have to deal with those idiots twice.

does the TSB state and alignment to be done or does it give them an out with something like "alignment inspection and adjust if necessary"?

I do not see any clause in there, I know it needs to be done b/c i added my 5100's and eibach last week in preparation for my tsb and FREE alignment.
time to call the service manager....
I have a feeling what I have and what toyota provides to them are not the same.when I went in the first time with the full print out, tech said he had to check their board, could not take what I had printed as the most current...

It says in there that an alignment is to be done. It is on the list for work to be done.

pg 2 lists all necessary tasks for the TRD.
    rear spring assembly 1.4h
    alignment 1.2h
    front toe in
    front camber
    front caster.

    bastages.

and to boot, it took the tech over 2 hrs to just replace the 2 springs. BTW, it is a nicer ride

Anytime you change or adjust suspension, you need re-aligned. Yes and alignment should be included in the TSB. Take it back and have them do it!

That's not an "out." If they put it on the rack and it's right then no worries- but they have to put it on the rack to figure it out.

And it IS POSSIBLE to janx up the alignment on the rear end when removing the springs. I ended up in the bay at Firestone with a hammer fixing the rear end.

    They NEED to do it.

called corporate, and now see the problem.
they performed the spring swap per 0305-08 but billed the work under 0274-09 (squeaky leaf springs) which does not require alignment.
    getting new case number...
