The 13+ year old divshare link is dead. As dead as my 2005 Tacoma.
I have removed the link. I do not have the PDF files.

After joining this forum, which is great by the way, I've learned some interesting things. Like I didn't realize there were so many TSB's out there. I have a 2005 Tacoma with 32,000 miles and I would venture a guess in saying I probably haven't received any of these notices. Anyone know how I can get myself on the mailing list for these things? Of particular interest in the rear leaf spring one. I haven't done a lot of towing with my truck so it hasn't been a problem, but what if I do and have trouble? Does the TSB for the rear springs change the ride without weight which is the usual condition of use for my truck, or at least minimal cargo except for passengers. It's probably already too late to convince Toyota to do the work free of charge as I'm in the neighborhood of 3 years and almost 36,000 miles. Any thoughts?

You can go to toyota.com and sign up for TSB access. I think they charge you $10.00 per day or some annual fee if you want unlimited access. I think edmunds.com has a free one but I'm not sure.

    good luck!

As far as I know, they don't mail them out. That's a popular misconception. These are not recall notices because they're not considered safety issues.

Don't wait though. You're under 36K miles. That's what counts.

I was in for the windshield noise repair but it's still there. Not as prevelant but still really annoying, especially when meeting semis on a 2 lane highway. Anyone been in and still having the problem??

I have the windshield noise on occassion but I've never taken it to the dealership to have it fixed. Now that I know what it is, I'm just going to fix the stupid thing myself. It doesn't do it all the time, just at highway speeds when there is a lot of cross or head wind to deal with, otherwise I don't usually hear it at all. Maybe I'm luckier than some that seem to have a lot more problems with it.

I don't see any TSB'S for 2008 I called my local Toyota dealer to have a TSB done on my rear springs because when i put even a small load in it it becomes a low rider truck. The dealer called me back and said nope no TSB for this year so now I'm stuck with what i consider a 1/4 ton truck quite a shift from my last truck that was a 2001 dodge 2500 diesel. a 3/4 ton truck that barely noticed a 1 ton load in its bed. GRRRR

I have owned several trucks maybe its unfair to blame the Japanese for not knowing how to make trucks that can handle a load. But every Japanese truck that i have owned either wont handle a load (over rated tonnage wise) or they ride like little lumber wagons (similar to a Harley with a rigid frame.)
My 2008 Taco has a great car like ride but with 500 pounds of tools on board its like a frikin lowrider.

Hey neighbor, what dealership did you go to, I sent an e-mail to capitol toyota they just don't respond. I was going to try to call toyota next week and tell them I need it fixed so I can carry some concrete. I understand if you call toyota they will make the d-ship fix it.

My 06 Double cab is the third Toyota pickup I've owned. I've loved all of them despite their lousy rear suspensions. The first was an '88, the second was a '99 4x4. I had trouble with the leaf springs in both of those. I had the leaf springs in the '88 re-arched and added a leaf. I had a leaf in the '99 break going over a speed bump so I had to replace those and added a leaf at that time too.
I started looking around online for a solution for my '06 because I have been noticing the bottoming out and sag and was thinking that I was going to have to add a leaf or something. After stumbling across this great forum and saw the information about the TSB, I decided to give a call to Toyota's 800-331-4331 Customer Experience Center. I didn't let on that I knew about the TSB and told the guy about my problems and, while he was helpful, he said that he couldn't find anything on that. Then I told him that I had seen the TSB SU006-07 and he looked it up and magically found it. At any rate, he said that it is covered under the warranty and would have the Customer Relations Rep at my local Toyota Dealership (Beaverton Toyota in Beaverton, Oregon) contact me about getting the work done. We'll see how it goes from here.

Thanks for all the great info!! Hopefully, I'll be saving a bunch of money by getting Toyota to cover it under warranty.

I'm suprised that it sags. I tow an 18' Ranger bass boat with my 2005 2WD Tacoma. Without any problems, and the truck doesn't sag at all. I do not have the TRD package either. I guess the 2005 model was better built. I have 84,000 miles & it is still just as strong as when it was new. My 2003 Tacoma was a different story, but that was a small truck. It did sag.
