    You're getting a full load of BS... call Toyota's 1-800 service number and get you a case number. That seems to be what solves a lot of these issues.

    He did not even really try to explain. He just said that it could be a cause. I told him that I am not an idiot and know how a suspension works and the arch of the springs has no direct correlation to the type of tire on the truck. As soon as I called their bluff he went on down the list to tell me that the actual inspector that looked at my truck made a note that the springs still retained their proper arch and there were no leaks on the shocks-and everything was in working order. I offered to send him pics, he said that the inspector would be sending him the pics and he would call me back when he got a chance to look at the pics(within the next couple of days). I explained the issue with how easy it bottoms out and how the bump stops have visibly been hitting/rubbing on the frame. He denied everything I told him about MY truck and said that he would call me back. He was not hearing any more of what I had to say. I have not talked with the service manager at my dealership yet-just the advisor, but I am going to see if that will help and maybe send some strategic e-mails higher up at Extra Care and Toyota Customer Service. I have a case number already, thanks to my service advisor-who is still going to bat for me on his end too.

    Its ironic how the auto manufacture cycle is going on. Years ago it was japanese automanufacters that were beating out the big 3 with superior customer service and quality. Now its going around where the u.s. manufacturers are making solid vehicles with great customer service and toyota is falling flat on its face in all departments.

    I've never heard of an extra care advisor, and I don't see where he has to be part of the picture. I took my '08 in to the service manager, showed him the TSB (which at the time didn't cover '08s). He hopped on the phone and his exact words were, "what do I need to fill out to make this happen?" I never talked to anyone but the manager, a service tech who logged the vehicle in, and the chauffeur who took me home.

    It's not turning that quick. We have about 26 service bulletins. A quick search on Edmunds shows that there's 56 for a Chevy Silverado 1500. My dad fights with Dodge every time he goes in. I want domestics to get better, I'm just not in a hurry to trust anyone too quick.

    This does give you a significant amount of clout most of the time, because that review you do at the end has repercussions.

    Depends on the dealer. Don't expect a war, just be reasonable. "I found out about this TSB and called customer service to obtain a case because I'm worried about my truck's performance. They said you could assist me." As long as they are a good dealership, that should be all that's needed.

    Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
    ur out of the 3yr/36k by a good bit. at thes point, the dealer really would be doing u a favor by completing the tsb.

    and for puddle....fight those dealer douchebags w/ everything u've got. i have never heard of extra care either. the local dealership here in charleston is the best i've ever dealt with and when i took mine in to get the tranny tsb on the 09 he said no prob and it'll be done in 1 1/2 hours....

    Too few to list.
    I believe "Extra Care" is an extended warranty company and not associated with Toyota at all.

    I bought an extended warranty so it should be valid right? Not through Toyota though. Lat time I took it in, the rep wanted to help but the dbag mech said no dice. I know for a fact (thanks to this site) that my bumpstops are hitting my frame. Another thing is that the springs squeak so bad, even after I get my lubrication services done.

    When I called my warranty company they said regardless of a TSB, the mech said everything checks out. Basically I guess I just want it fixed to not have to worry about it and I paid a lot for this truck so just fix the damn thing. Am I asking too much or should I just go with my own leaf/shock? Money is tight especially with twins on the way so I wouldn't be able to justify a purchase until I really need new shocks. Again, I really just want it corrected so is it too much to ask?

    "Squeaky wheel gets the grease." I have called enough people in the past few days over this TSB that I guess I finally called the right person. I called the Service Manager at the Champion Toyota Dealership here in Corpus Christi and left a message with him detailing my concerns. He called the Extra Care Warranty representative and they are going to "Good Will" my truck and do the TSB. My service rep just called and said that he had some good news... He is ordering the parts and will call to schedule the work soon.
    Thanks guys for all of your help and allowing me to vent my anger...

    @Toucan:

    your profile says you have a lift installed. Toyota won't cover aftermarket parts.

    I just bought an 05 DC LB and noticed this discussion board about all the TSBs. Has anyone had any luck getting Toyota to do the work on vehicles past the original 36k mile warranty?

    Also, is the T-SB-0380-09 for the blower motor squeal noise the same as the ticking sound that a lot of Tacoma owners seem to have? I noticed the ticking 2-3 days after I had made my purchase. Thanks guys!
