somewhat. They get really specific about making sure that you know a TSB and a recall are not the same words.

TSB is pretty much how dexterdog described, although it is under-warranty work and it is typically a non-safety issue. You can waive the TSB and the service desk can skip it if you don't meet the preconditions (which it's just easier for them to do the work anyway)
Recall is work that needs to be performed that addresses critical safety issues that does not require a precondition. The service department pretty much has to do it whether you want it done or not
A voluntary recall is a recall that you can waive.

Sometimes a voluntary recall and a TSB is a bundled deal. For instance I couldn't get the shift point reflash TSB if I didn't agree to the shaved pedal.

tried searching for steering column tsb and didn't find anything. Is there a TSB for the steering column rattle? I went on the gravel road for the first time and my steering wheel felt like it was loose...

That's the one, thank you. Will be going in for the scheduled maintenance soon and will mention my steering column rattle to them along with the transmission TSB. We'll see what good comes out of it... Took a while to persuade them to do the Rear Leaf Spring TSB, might take some more tug of war

I have a 07 dc 4x4 I had the original springs replaced under the tsb they were fine for a while now these are doing the same thing. Under a load it bottoms out easily.
I think the replacement spring is the exact same crap as the originals. I haul alot of stuff and going to look into some different spring options at a spring shop.

I have an 05 DC LB and my mechanic just notified me of a crack on the frame where the motor mount meets the frame. He says its a common problem on the 05's but only in the first half of the production year. He said toyota fixed the problem halfway through that year. Well at least he caught it when he did because otherwise it would have cracked the frame completely making it a complete piece of junk (unfixable). It entails the motor to be removed and the motor mount to be rewelded, a $1200+ job.:frusty:

Yes. That is the same answer I gave you in the thread you started. No one else answered I'm sure due to the amount of posts on this subject. The search function is your friend.

Actually it may be either side, but mine was only on the passenger side, so look at both.

Will TSB fixes be performed if a problem is found on a vehicle under 36k mileage, but older than 36 months? (05)

I do have an extended warranty.

Anybody heard of a TSB on hte front wheel bearings? Just replaced both of mine. 80,003 miles and they were both shot. No mud or nothing. 8 Toyotas in my life and never had a wheel bearing issue!

I took my '08 TRD Sport Tacoma in this morning for the TSB at Arlington Toyota in Jacksonville, FL. I mentioned that I have the 3" front, 1-1/4" Revtek Lift Kit installed and he said it wouldn't be a problem as long as they can determine there's an issue with the leaf springs. I will be sure to post an update when I hear back.

So they said it was a no go. They told me I would need to take off the lift kit and return my truck to stock before they would do any work. I also looking into OEM TSB leafsprings and they are $699 a piece plus labor. Sounds like I might just buy an add-a-leaf from Revtek, some Bilstein 5100's and call it a day.
