I had mine replaced and was told it would be 4 leafs but then later was told it was found by some the 4 leafs were too stiff so it was replaced with a beefed up three leaf instead of a 4. I did notice a difference in carrying a load.

Blacked out emblems, Weathertech liners, LED interior, tag, and 3rd brake light, reverse light mod, rear TSB, rear diff. breather, added black factory running boards, OR tow hook, and rhino lined UWS low profile box.
Well, just got back from the dealership without my truck. After I made sure to tell them that the shocks didn't need to be replaced... guess what? I had black shocks.

Not if us Northern folk buy in the USA. It came new from Bryan Easler Toyota in Hendersonville, NC.
And I suspect you are correct about the 3 vs. 4 leafs. Time will tell.

Your truck is beyond the warranty so it is not applicable. You would have to pay out of pocket for the replacement springs. See this for more info.

Yep - my trucks go it. Funny thing is they say there is NO FIX for it LOL!

Bet if I get under there with some WD40 it will magically go away.

Bought an '09 TRD Sport with 24,000 mi. Toyota "Certified" used car.
Have been in negotiations for about two weeks with dealer for the 4 leaf fix. Currently have 26,000 mi.(Sags with 4 wheelers loaded)

First, SA says "bring it in and we will take some measurements" I did, they did, then they called Toyota and they said nope, nothing broken you're good with 3 leafs. I protested, and spoke with dealer OP manager, made the point I bought certified and should have this covered.

They called back and said Toyota will cover 1/2 of a ($1700.00) estimate and that the dealership will cover all but $300.00 I said I don't think I should have to pay another $300 and argued my point, they called back and said, OK, we want you to be happy. We are ordering parts and bring it in about a week.

I'll update after work is complete.

I think it is the economy, boys.
In a non-Obama scare time, this probably wopuld be a non-issue.
I am thankful for a dealer who is taking care of me. Had to fight a little, but thats OK.

I Bought my Tacoma 2011 DC TRD Sport late 2010 (November to be exact) and currently have 12,600 miles on it and never knew about the TSB

When I load up my truck with 2 full size dirt bike I felt the sag and the drive feel awkward that I can feel the back will be swinging side by side if I don’t drive slow
I upgrade my Spring with an AAL from Toytec to avoid the sag and fix the problem, but I haven’t tried it yet since the upgrade and also Replace the shock with Bilstein 5100’s
I lift the front with 2.5 inches via Bilstein 5100’s adjustable height to level up the height,
The question is will they replace that or lower it down?
Also since the new shock and lift in the front is installed I can hear some knocking noise when in full chock to the right but not the left

Should I go and get the TSB done?
Will they replace my 5100’s?

I just want them to get it right instead of me trying to correct the issue and I want the alignment to be done too
and have them check the knocking noise

What do you guys think?

Thanks for the input

Correct, since your warranty is out you would be responsible for the cost of the TSB's.

Taken this Morning on my way to Puente Hills Toyota in the City of Industry
After I remove some stuff on it like the pipe is a Carbon Fiber and some Fender Eliminator the bike Weight is around 380lbs

with a 380lbs weight and no passenger the truck is sagging already pretty bad, I told the Service Manager that I normally haul 2 bike going to a track and with around 800 lbs of load the truck ride harsh and I'm hitting the bump stop and the payload is supposed to be 1,300lbs the other Service Manager told me I can fix it by adding a leaf and told him yeah, that's a way to correct it and fortunately they have a TSB for it and he says “huh” (my Truck is only 20 months old with 12,517 miles at the check in)
I showed him the printed TSB and he replied with ooohhh, okay and he called a mechanic to have a ride with me with the bike on it to do a test ride

After some roundabout with the mechanic they decided to order the parts and hopefully will be ready to be installed either Thursday or Friday

Btw I believe another Sr. Mechanic Manager also spoke with me and I was told that he have the same truck and same problem and they need a to hear a Customer complain on what is the issue and what problem they are having before they perform any TSB and order parts
Since this is a TSB not a Recall they will not notified anybody about the problem until they’re having the “Harsh Ride” when loaded otherwise they will never fix it cause some owner are not using the truck as it should be and treat it like a Car

So, I took my '09 TRD Sport into Tom Scott Toyota in Nampa, Idaho. Harsh, sagging ride with my 4 wheelers.
After a few discussions the service OP's manager tells me they will pay to have it done, they want a happy customer. Well, tell you what, night and day difference, now I know what I was missing!
Before and after pics.
Thank you "Sara" @ Tom Scott Toyota, you have a loyal customer.

Anyone get the SS002-07 done for the ECU reprogramming? I am having some hard shift on my automatic, it is a 2006 so I am way out of warranty, wondering how much they are going to charge to do this.

Yeah.
Did your truck fall under the floor mat recall? If so, I *think* that comes with a reflash and you wouldn't have to pay.

Just a few expensive & DIY things...
The rear leaf pack parts have new part numbers for those looking to get this done on their truck. (mine is a 2010 dbl cab trd OR)
Left (driver) Rear is 48220-35020
Right (passenger) Rear is 48210-35A20

World Toyota in Atlanta had me the parts ordered and installed no questions asked the next day. Even got shuttle service back to my house.
