No, TSB states it must be under factory warranty.
But....Some people have been successful in getting it performed, they usually had to demonstrate a severe problem by putting weight (under payload) in the bed and it bottoming out easily. Depends on the dealer and the extent of your issue, they don't have to do it and would have to get approval for it out of warranty.

    see above
TRD models get new 4 leaf packs, Non-TRD models get 4 Bilstein shocks and 4 leaf pack. Don't know what they would charge, but I'd guess you would be better off going will something aftermarket. Check out the suspension section of the forum.

TSB states Access Cab and Double Cab body styles only. Not much the dealer can do to help you out, so if you are concerned and having a problem then contact Toyota Corporate and see if they are willing to help. I think they are basing it on regular cabs having a lower payload/towing capacity and they weigh less overall.

On my reciept, the dealership is charging Toyota $1500 and change. And that's without shocks.

I have a 2008 single cab 4x4 4-cyl tacoma and they did the TSB for me. My old springs would rattle over bumps before. The TRD shocks are awesome. The truck sits a bit higher with the new springs. The cost to Toyota was $1995.00. No wonder the big 3 are in DC begging for $$$. Toyota's service is top notch.

Could you provide more info on your process to get it done? There are some reg cab people wanting to get it done and the TSB both old and new clearly state they are not covered.
Did you make a complaint due to the rattle?
Did you present the TSB to the dealer yourself?

I did. They tried a couple of times to fix it. I stayed on them. I printed out the TSB from the link provided in this thread and brought it to them. They didn't hesitate and ordered the kit right away. I guess I'm lucky because it seems some dealerships are giving customers a tough time about it.

Yes I am, I currently have a 2008 Double Cab 6M/ sport, towing.
Mine sits low and bottoms out often, I do have the extra weight of an A.R.E cap.
I already have 4 springs, and the upgraded sport shocks. Will Toyota do anything else to it?

I have the driveline vibrations at lower speeds and I do have a spacer lift and aal. Does the driveline TSB fix this or is the lift the cause? Should I remove lift before going to dealer? I also have only the 3leaf pack, does the aal fix the bottoming out issue? Thanks!!

On the 05+ models, that isn't a bed liner - it is the acutal bed. I had a problem with rattling on my 2007, but there was no TSB out for it. My 2008 doesn't have any problems with bed rattle, and it gets much more use/abuse. Have you checked all the bolts and the "bins" above the wheel wells?

Basically Toyotas service is the worse their is when it comes to things like this. You could almost get a Complete Long Travel Kit for 2 grand! My frame swap they wanted to do was $10,000....enough said. Fix is gonna be done tomorrow. I do need the Tailgate TSB but i have the extended warranty and im not sure if its covered

I'd rather fight with Toyota than step foot in Pontiac.

Also, service changes based on your dealership.

I have a 07 trd tacoma dcab that has 32,000 miles on it. Recently I noitced that the rear end was sagging and the brakes would sqeak. When I took it to the dealership the found the TSB on both of them and then one more and are fixxing it under warrenty. I would highly recommend Big Island toyota Hilo Hawaii

So i called toyota to see if the TSB will carry over to the 09 models. They said that as of now the tsb does not carry over but they are contacting my local dealer to look at my truck. i had noticed the rough ride while loaded but assumed it was just how it was until i read this thread. I have an appointment to get someother work done March 5th so I will post back with what they say about the tsb on the 09's

Well I had the Vibration TSB done. I think it helped a little, but that may just be my imagination, it was still there. Took it in again since then and they said I needed a new driveshaft. Just got back from the dealership from getting that replaced to no avail. I'm really perturbed. If this issue has no long term effects on the truck, then I can live with it (although I shouldn't have to). I plan on keeping this thing for atleast 8 years and I don't want this to be the cause of something major down the road after all warranties are up.
