I didn't do anything to the truck this weekend. Saturday we did a TSD road rally in the Subaru and on Sunday I shot a round of sporting clays and hung out at the shooting range most of the day. Monday I finished fabbing up the compresser-fusebox platform and mounting brackets for the air tank. Tuesday I painted the brackets and platform and ran the 4 gauge wire for the fusebox (nothing really photo worthy). Today we prepped the skids and primered them. First we washed them with soap and water then cleaned them with wax and grease remover. I mixed up the epoxy primer and my wife rolled it on.

While she was priming I installed the platform. It is such a simple thing but damn was it time consuming to make! I think it turned out pretty nicely considering I've never built anything like that before.

Got the air tank installed today. Was going to paint the skids too but it got super windy so that put a halt to that. The rest of the suspension should be here on Moday so I'm going to try and get it all apart on Sunday. I still need to run all of my wires and air lines. I am going to run wire for bed lights and a 12 volt plug for the bed while Im under there.
The air tank was a bit of a chore to put it where where I wanted it. I fabed up some brackets and it sure was a royal PITA to get my fingers in it to bolt it together! But it's done and I hope I never have to take it off again!

Today we painted the top half of the skids and tomorrow I'll flip them and paint the bottoms. UPS man came and dropped off the rear shocks. Icon 2.5's baby!!!!!! The front coilovers should be here on Monday! Plan on getting the rear lift done and the front tore apart by Monday.

I'm a bit behind on this. Saturday I got the lug wrench I ordered from Wheelers in the mail. Well it didn't fit in the lug holes. Yea I'm a jackass, I ordered the wrong ones! I needed the spline drive and not the acorn ones :frusty: But other than that everything is going great. A friend of mine came over and we worked on the rear suspension. The brake lines were a royal PITA! After a good 15-30 minutes of fighting with the passenger side line, with brake fluid running down our arms the whole time I might add, I figured out the ends were different. So with a quick blast with a step bit to 3/4" on the brackets fixed it right up. Just needed to hold the brake lines to tighten them up. After that no other issues other than running out of daylight before we were able to finish up. All we had left to do was bleed the brakes and mount the remote reservoirs.
Yesterday I got the brakes bled and mounted the reservoirs. Then another friend came by and we installed a rear diffuser on his Wrx and that took way longer than we figured it would have. But I was still able to get the front all tore apart except for the UCA's, I saved the hardest part for last! So now I'm heading back out to go finish removing and installing the UCA's and wait for the Ups man to deliver the coilovers!

Well stage 1 is mostly complete. Still need to button up some wiring and tubing for the on board air. As you can now see the title of the build is starting to make sense now! We painted the skids and the insides of the wheels pink. We color matched the decals for a pretty close match. A lot happier the way that matched more than the grille does. The wife is super happy, as they say "Happy wife, happy life" :D

Ya, I got the bumper on. I had to shim the right side wing and shim the mounting points so it woud stop rubbing the fender. I'm not going to do anything else with the bumper until I weld it together and gusset it. For the skid, I'm just going to use some Rustoleum primer for now. When I go home in the summer I will probably roll on a couple coats of Rustoleum (same thing my sliders are painted with).

23rd sounds good. I haven't been to Seep Springs or Penrose yet.

    I like the pink skids!

Well I guess I lied to ya! Not gonna have an open weekend till May 1st! Seep springs is pretty neat, it ends up at Red Canyon Park. Penrose commons is home to the independence trails http://www.traildamage.com/trails/index.php?id=141 Gnarly shit! I did Liberty in my Jeep. There are easy trails there too but the 9-10 rated trails are worth checking out.

I may have to wait to run Liberty until I have full armor underneath and after I build my rear bumper. I'll see if I can get out in May since thats the last two weeks of school and that means finals. If I'm here for the 1.5 weeks between SAE Baja comp (14th-24th) and end of school I'll be down for any day.

Thanks guys. Pink is a really loud color, its so easy to go over kill on it.
Finally welded on the bumpstops and cut down the u-bolts last night. First time welding so my welds sure ain't pretty! I can only get better from here. :D I need to practice more before I burn on the sliders, whenever we get em', hurry up Eric!
