tuning cb with 4 pin mic

I finally got an swr meter and went to tune my cb..
but the microphone connection is 4 pin, and my swr just has antenna connections on both sides. what am I doing wrong?

 

You plug in the SWR to the antenna plug on the CB, and then plug the antenna into the SWR. It goes inline with the antenna.

 

but the ends don't match up, the back of the radio is a female end, and the swr has 2 female ends, one for the antenna, but the other won't connect...

 

You may have to get a "jumper" cable. It's a short cable that has female and male antenna connections. I'll try to find a link

i see, I have an extra coax cable, can I use that or will it mess up my signal?

 

It's the same thing, it shouldn't hurt.

 

so, when I key the mic on the FWD setting, the meter goes off the chart, then i key it on REF and it doesn't move.... thoughts?

Edit: Now I can't get the needle to move at all..

thanks man, I'll see what I can find. also, my cb is directly under my head unit in the dash, do you think this would cause interference?
