Well looks like my phone sucks for typing. You are making my point. The higher the load, the more stress on the spark. He's saying it is good at WOT, but has an initial hickup. If it was the spark, it would get worse, not better, as boost builds. Sounds like an issue in closed loop that is no longer an issue in open loop but hard to say.

Well that's the thing... the bad coil gave a misfire at WOT (full boost) but then it just started working 2 or 3 seconds into the WOT pull. It got progressively worse (took longer to start sparking the fuel) until finally I had a constant misfire while in boost.

 

Been wondering when we'd see high pressure fuel systems injecting on compression stroke in gasoline engines. Very cool stuff. If this goes right we might see work trucks transition from diesel to gasoline, lol.

@Jstand What is your spark plug gap? Could you catch me up on your build?

 

Spark plug gap is .028 from .041 new fuel pump is 255lph with pink injectors. Intercooler is in and running 8-9psi It doesn't happen all the time but when the throttle is half or full either one it seems like it's being held back then takes off.

 

Diesel is such a pain to meet US emissions. The world may be able to keep engines a bit longer.

 

Sounds like a vacuum leak to me. Possibly with the PCV routing or venting.

Where is the needle on the boost gauge, when it happens? Take note next time

 

Almost sounds like the normal part spool lean out until the truck kicks into open loop. Feels like a switch clicks and the truck acts normal again. Probably does it below 3k rpms.

 

That's possible I'll take note of these thing

 

And get a wideband installed!!!

 

Yea I've been avoiding it because I have to install the sensor without taking off the down pipe

 

It doesn't have to be in the downpipe. It can be post downpipe as well.

 

My downpipe bolts to the catalytic converter unless it can be after the converter or I could relocate the converter

 

I just love missing 30 pages of stuff.

So I've been avoiding installing the wide-band sensor because i have to do it under the truck is 9 or 3 o'clock as far as angle or does it have to be 10-2 its going to be difficult but i may just try

Try to get it as close to the degree the instructions say.

 

Wbo2 is most important thing to install after adding boost. I've got burnt valves that say so.
