uhhhh.... cuz that's how the truck runs stock and it's been running perfectly fine for the last 3 years like that with the turbo until now. what are you suggesting exactly?

that you arent even diagnosing your problem correctly and instead just swapping/moving stuff till it "works" all while using a narrowband which arent accurate. :crapstorm:

I swapped them to rule out the location of the front o2 within the down pipe being the problem, and that's exactly where the problem was. How can one diagnose a problem "wrong" if they indeed diagnosed the problem? Also what do you mean by "aren't accurate"? If my AEM wideband gauge reads 14.7:1 while cruising, that means that the stock narrowband is working accurately. Now that the issue at hand has been successfully diagnosed, I know that I need to change the location of the front narrowband o2. I really honestly don't understand what your beef is lol!!! I have a problem, and now I know how to fix it... end of story. What's the problem with that?

It's a DD and we have emissions tests here. Fucking passed by the way and with flying colors I might add. It was 100% my cat. @GioGuitarDude if I'm reading you correctly you've attached the front o2 wires to the rear o2 sensor? Are you running a cat currently? In any case, it sounds like your front o2 is garbage. OEM all the way. A properly functioning sensor should oscillate between .1-9 V and it should be fairly rapid at anything over idle engine speed.

Correct, and no cat. Front o2 (boshe) replaced a denso and both were reading identically (incorrectly). I have some serious doubts that two separate o2 sensors from two different manufacturers were defective in the same exact way, so I feel comfortable blaming the location at which the front o2 is currently at.
Did you use any e85 or denatured alcohol to pass, or was it just the replacement cat that did the trick? Also are you running cx headers and such? Sorry, I can't keep up with everyone's builds lol.

I did 50% e-85 and 50% 91. I only used gas at all so the smell of the ethanol wouldn't potentially lead to a fail. Yeah I'm running the full on CX kit except a different turbo, 3" exhaust. I'm fairly certain the cat I was using was a 2-way cat which doesn't react with nitrogen oxides. I replaced it with a 3-way "heavy metal" grade cat which I concur is a grade between obd2 and CARB. Yeah it made a huge difference even in the carbon emissions. It was only like $80 IIRC.

I wonder if you could just use the secondary as a primary in it's current location and use one of the spoof methods for the secondary signal.

Yes, that was one of a few options, but I still want to weld a bung near the wideband bung on the downpipe and see if the sensor likes that more.

my next car will be turbo for sure, while the idea of a high revving NA motor is cool, torque wins rallies. im just not 100% sure if i want an FWD, RWD or AWD platform to rally, as i can only afford to build one, once. I dont want to build a car and then realize i dont like the way it drives, cause then im 20k into a car i dont love. ive already been through two FWD cars, but havent had enough seat time in anything else to really compare too.

I've never rallied anything...I've never driven on a track either :D But if I had to choose one, I'd choose an AWD platform, like a AWD camry would be super cool if you could find one. Or a porsche cayenne :D

lol. i envy Team O'niel, they bought three or four brand new Focus RS's, gutted them and turned them into stage cars. and now they just announced they are building a Fiesta R5 to run with rally america. I knew they had deep pockets, but damn.

Edit: this is JUST thier fleet for the school, that dosent include the billion competition cars they have as well.

Yes, because I'm sure at least a couple of their students have rolled/crashed the cars. However, thats not standard auto insurance, thats racw insuranve, which is a whole new thing. I doubt moat of those cars are tagged for the street, as they have an absolutely massive facility, so they can and have run full stage rallies without ever leaving the property.
