Most gasoline in the US has 10% ethanol already. No commercial gasoline is stored in anything but airtight regulated containers... it’s not like the gas is sitting in open horse troughs for months absorbing tons and tons of water. I get that ethanol is hydroscopic (I’ve mentioned and addressed that here in TW for years). If we don’t store ethanol rich gas for long periods of time, it’s relatively safe. I’ve replaced fuel injectors and pumps many times, and honestly that’s a risk I’m willing to take for a knock-less engine. I’ve been using e85 AND pure denatured ethanol alcohol (to pass emissions) for years, and I’m relatively comfortable using 3-4 gallons of it in every tank. I add marvels mystery oil to my small carb/motorcycle engines (that I keep gas in all winter long) and Lucas fuel stabilizer to my truck every tank and I never have fuel quality related problems.

 

All my small stuff I put fuel stabilizer in it. Works great.

Though I live in dry socal.

 

More material on the way. Just need some 347 rod, and a band saw.

Been looking at what is needed to cut titanium. Unless you guys can find a shorter blade that fits a hand held portable band saw, looks like I'll have to get a stationary bandsaw with a 7' blade.

 

Would a plasma cutter work for you? I mean your gonna need one for something eventually anyway right?

How short of a blade are you looking for? One option would be to take a longer blade and have it cut and rewelded to the length that you need. A lot of larger, older vertical bandsaws have built in blade welders, so you might be able to find a machine shop with one that could do it for you. Shouldn't take more than a few minutes of their time.

Why does my truck act like it has a 5th gear. When its going through the gears once it goes into overdrive the rpms go down just a little bit more right after like another gear

What's the min/max blade size that will fit? Home Depot has a 35-3/8" 24TPI blade.

 

Got to be a carbide tipped blade.

 

I go on McMaster carr website for band saw blades.

 

You shouldn't need carbide to cut titanium tubing. A carbide blade will just last longer and cost you more. What's the wall thickness of your titanium tubing? If we knew that it would be more efficient trying to help you find a blade. Also, what width and thickness of blade does your saw take?

Everything that McMaster recommends for cutting Ti is a carbon steel blade that is just TiAlN coated, not carbide.

 

Never had to work with titanium before. Wouldn't know off hand.
