I see, i was thinking maybe this in conjunction with a turbo

well..if you could fit it with that thing haha

Then it would boost your motors efficiency. But not really the turbo's..and it wouldn't work like how the P1's hybrid system works where the electric motors fill in the gaps when the turbos aren't spooled up.

Idk what that would be. But probably get great gas mileage and plenty of power!

    GTX 3071r @8psi...

Turbo arrived a few hours ago, but I was at work. She's so puuurrrddyyy!
Gt2871r (.64ar) with billet wheel, dual ceramic ball bearings, and 360 thrust bearing.

Now I just need feed/drain lines & fittings, studs, a boost gauge, intercooler, and oil then I'm done (collecting parts, cause let's be real- turbos projects never end lol)

I've decided to go full drag. Me and brother are going in together. Auto swap. 5200rpm stall. Xona XR 95•67 turbo 95lb/min. 50 shot nitrous for spool and launch. Should be fun with awd.

External combustion chamber takes up less space.

My turbo to hp reference was only that. Not to discuss the lbs/minute flow. I understand that well. I do not know how many lbs/min the UPP turbo flows. Let's do this though and just look at what was presented. Compliments of Redlantern.

Stock RPM of 5500. Their UPP turbo. E85 fuel. Stock internals. 487whp 492wtq. ~9 psi (journal or ball bearing unknown)

My turbo was a 6266. Larger compressor, albiet barely.

Being that the RPM is stock and the engine is stock, they wanted to prove what they could do on a stock block. Which would also mean that they wanted to have a turbo which would spool quickly in the rpm range. To utilize the most of it as possible. Not a monster turbo which has a high flow rate but doesn't break the boost threshold until way to late in the rpm range.

Which brings us back to E85. The components are inherently weak and that has been :deadhorse:. The slightest pinging and headgaskets or internals are done. Cool charge and have a higher octane rating and you can throw more timing in. As well as "protect" the engine at the same time. Best of both worlds.

Plus! Had one other member make ridiculous power with a turbo setup the same as @RedLantern . Except on only ~5-6 psi. His secret.......... :gossip: timing. Shhh...don't tell the secret. Lol

But boost makes more power than timing anyway. I'd rather run lower timing and higher boost than other way around.

But again I'm used to low compression. My talon is on stock 7.8:1 pistons. Crazy I know. Lol

It's so tiny...it's just a little baby! Only reason I went with a gt2871r was the ease of getting a turbo setup running on this truck. Since I have the mani/downpipe that OzBoost uses, it means less fab work. Eventually I'll swap it out for a T3/T4 hyrbid with external gate. At that point, I'll have a V-band catless downpipe made up, too. I already have a rear O2 sim ready, and I'll be tuning with the AEM FIC

    Alright couple (maybe 3)of questions.
1 are my upstream o2 sensor bad/going out?
2 why are my afr lean if my fuel trims are rich
3 why are my ltft so different when im driving but basically the same when at idle or cruise

Also when my afrs top out at 18.15 and im accelerating or maintaining speed, not just coasting, my truck fumbles around so im pretty sure my afr gauge is accurate to an extent, plus xpotrpr confirmed witg torque and aem that within the operating parameters, torque is accurate within .1. But if my sensors are going bad that may not be the case

Small turbos are fun on the street. You should see my power band on the dyno. Once boost hits the tq/hp curve almost goes vertical!!! It can give you whip lash with the awd.

Can't find my newer dyno sheet but got a older one. Its lower boost and stock cams on a load bearing dyno. But look at the curve!!

This is an old dyno day my buddies shop hosted. Now he only does GTRs, lambos and r8 trans.

Start at 2:40. Compare the big turbo power curve to my curve. My car goes right after the orange blur. When I was young that orange car owned the streets.

Agreed. Increased Timing and rpm are far more hazardous to and engine than boost. Always best to know what the capabilities are before going after it.

Stock compression on the 1GR is 10:1, I believe.
