    Well that's good. Usually journal bearing turbos don't need a restrictor unless you're leaking it out the seals from what I understand. If I had to bet Id say your restrictor was too small.

    Read some forums post across the internet, do some searching, disassemble it and determine if you can rebuild it.
    It for sure needs new bearings and a new compressor wheel from what I saw. It really depends on how much you wanna invest to rebuild the thing.

    Hmmm Id attempt rebuild and then no restrictor and see what happens, then start with a large restrictor if you leak.
    That restrictor looks pretty small for a all JB turbo. Looks like 0.040 maybe 0.050 either way too small for a JB turbo from what I understand

    I noticed on your build thread that you use a CX racing turbo. On their website turbos are $400 and up. From what I understand Percision turbos needs to be sent in to be rebuilt and if it's going to cost $300 or so to rebuild might be better to get a new one. Has that turbo been good

    Been good for 3000 miles or so prior to rebuild, but I think mine was used when I bought it. Rebuilt and virtually no play. If I bought one again Id buy a rebuild kit to and rebuild before install.

    You can rebuild yours yourself if you can get the correct kit, but I dunno how precision turbo does there stuff.

    CXRacing says they make there own turbos and rebuild kits, I'd wager they are a few notches above ebay.

    I'm stuck because now I don't have a car seems like just getting a new one from CX especially with the customer service like you said and rebuild kit readily available would be a better way to go

    Sure, that's what CX and ebay turbos are for.
    If you have a T3 or T3/T4 you'll have to call in for the rebuild kit.

    I didn't know I just use what was in the kit:notsure: I can drill out that restrictor no problem but it's too late I have to rebuild the turbo or get another one

    Here's what I might do get a turbo from CX racing because of time and no car keep the Percision turbo send it out to be rebuilt then resell it to get some of the money back but I would like to make sure that I have the oil feedline right before I put another turbo on

    Coulda been worst. Good thing blades didn't go breaking off and flying into intake plenum.

    I'm working on my truck right now changing out the condensor and upon removal of my Intercooler, I found a hole behind it. Looks like it's been rubbing on the hood bracket. Been running the truck with a boost leak for god knows how long lol. Guess I Gotta get a new one now.

    If you want you could check out on3performance turbos too. Their turbos seem to go on a lot of builds and is pretty reliable and pretty reasonably priced. Just make sure feed/drain lines are to proper spec. As far as their other items I'm not sure on their longevity.

    Or better yet contact @KirkRio over at boost lab. He usually has some turbos laying in the shop to suit your needs. Top notch quality and you'll know it'll last a long time.

    Drift motion makes great "budget" turbos as well. All garret internals.
