    And a $2M printer. This is a pretty vast topic that I’m not entirely educated about but I do know a very high percentage of printers are used to meet the form of the part and not the function. Ie the material properties are not suitable.

    There are only a few companies that have the capabilities to print engineering spec materials.

    A thing or two...
    3d printing metals is hot in aerospace and defense. I'll be surprised if it hasn't expanded beyond that in 5-10 years.

    Most of the time, yes- a 3D printer is used for mockup to help save cost on production. That's just what they're purposing them for. Since 3D printing is all CAD-based, it can be as precise as a CNC or waterjet. The material you print with is your choice (based on what the printer can accept), as well as the infill (density) of it.

    This is 10%, 25%, then 50% infill, in a simple diamond pattern. Honeycomb pattern ups the rigidty by about 20%, or for ultimate strength, go solid (100% infill).
    There's lots of stuff you can 3D print for automotive- including gauge pods!

    I have actually. Which is why i would still just grab some steel and make a part that would with stand my driving more so than plastic that could...probably would..stress fracture after a few thousand hard ass miles.

    But thats just me and I drive on a lot of dirt.

    Try some carbon reinforced stuff. I had a professor doing research work with 3d printers, he'd regularly make parts stronger than milled aluminum at half the weight. But our printers were like 40k printers lol

    The automotive industry has been using plastics for quite a while... and it simply doesn’t last. Even glass imbedded plastic snaps after enough heat cycles and vibration. I wouldn’t use anything besides steel to mount anything that I couldn’t afford to break off. Not even aluminum is trustworthy in some cases

    Which brand gauge? What does it read with the vehicle off?

    I am feeling that the sensor is bad, or the gauge is.

    It’s a glow shift and I’m hoping just the sensor I would hate to have engine troubles I’m going to be putting the 440’s in next week and I did find some boost/vac leaks one at the maf

    Cheap is as cheap does. Being at "0" psi oil pressure at idle, is my first indication of a problem with your sensor. Lest your oil be filled with metal shavings.
