I normally get to work on my old MTB converted to a SS commuter. When it's my turn to make the daycare run, I drive the 4Runner.

I've driven it very little other than the 540 miles home. Had title issues so waiting to get it back from the guy i bought it from as his ex wife had to sign it too...and she is on vacation.

But, other than that. It is fun as hell to drive. So tiny and yet so powerful. Love it. Can't wait to drive it more. I need to replace the motor mounts i think and speedo cable. Plus the fan switch and washer fluid pump. Other than that, the thing is insanely clean and drives great. Will be DD it straight for a few week while the double cab gets repaired and a bit of an overhaul.

Then it'll just be the back up DD and town run around truck for myself and the girl for when it snows.

Really wanted an 07-08 FXT manual..but couldn't find one near by or that i could afford. wanted something "sporty" to drive.

Reg cab V6 is kinda sporty..right? :cookiemonster:

    I strongly advise against that.

You need the ECU to keep you from blowing up your motor. Dont let that control rely on those bs little clamps

Sounds like it'd be a pretty fun truck to drive. I can't even imagine once you get boost on it.

    A thing or two...
I've got a WRX for my non-Tacoma ride. I've been driving it a lot lately because I'm limiting the miles on the truck until I get around to doing the water pump. I miss 6th gear and the boost when I switch back to driving the truck.

yeah i am excited to try a small turbo on it. Not for big power reasons but it would make it ridiculously fun.

Already accelerates good in 5th gear going up hills. Frankenstein never could do that even when he was stock.

    speaking of..

how was the MS3 to work with? What i'll be using.

It was pretty easy to wire up using the PNP harness. The only issue was the IAC valve. I didn't wire that up correctly so the valve was stuck open and idling at 1700rpm. I haven't been able to figure out yet exacly how to wire it up correctly. I've found a couple write-ups on CT but the pics for them are now gone since Photobucket fucked everyone over. So that makes it difficult for me to understand them. The use of it was pretty simple. I had a guy on CT that helped me out a lot with the initial settings. Once that was going, tuning is pretty straight forward. There is an autotune function with the full software that works pretty well for tuning around town and cruising speeds.

I removed it for now with the intention of selling it since I wasn't really using it near it's full potential. But lately I'm thinking about putting it back in if i can just get the idle wiring all figured out. It definitely is much more responsive with the MS and spools a little quicker as well. It would spool even faster with a 3 or 4 port BC as well.
