Turbo BS Thread

Does anyone have confirmation that the 2TR uses M10 x 1.25 exhaust manifold studs? Have a leaky gasket at the manifold (damn Beck/Arnley crap!) that I want to get new locknuts for, but RockAuto shows M10 x 1.25, while other places say M8 x 1.25. Manifold is still on the truck, so I want to stop on my way to my buddy's shop to pick up new nuts. Also replacing with a Felpro gasket, and I'll run a thin bead of UltraCopper to really seal it off.

LCE's website says they're 10mm. They don't list thread pitch though.

 

Lol I was just looking at their website as you replied... Looks like RockAuto was the right measurement- at least I can stop by my hardware store and get the right stuff now!

 

When I changed out the secondary air injection valve the studs were M8x1.25. I know could be different but compare the two.

the appeal of not having shared oil/coolant lines, a huge heat sink in the exhaust manifold (i know chargers still get hot), be able to run a fmic unlike twinscrews, linear powerband.

 

The URD kits have great success, with very good power numbers.


But rubber band turbos are gay. Yeah I said it.

 

Much higher efficiency as compared to a screw blower.

It's a belt driven turbo, so you are at the very least, half welcome here

im not talking truck, lol. my truck will never be fast and thats perfectly fine. dont need it to be.

i was thinking for my car. Kraftwerks has a basic kit without fmic for 3k (up to 550whp). Turbo kits start around 5k. i wont have to worry about a different manifold fitting or clearing other stuff under the hood as much with a rotrex. cost really isnt the issue, just talking and comparing.
