Turbo BS Thread

Any recommendations on which spark plugs I should change to? Think I might be fouling some, as I've developed a slight hesitation (similar to what my AEM FIC was doing with the wonky injector wire) which makes the truck spike slightly rich. I saw the

$12 NGK ILFR6T11 Laser Iridium Spark Plug, Pack of 1

NGK ILFR6T11, but that's the normal heat range for my junk. Any opinions @MrCrowntown @Torspd ?

 

What are the OEM installed plugs? Not just brand.

 

Denso IKH20

 

Get a minimum of

$9 IKH22 Iridium Power Spark Plug, (Pack of 1)

IKH22's. Better with

$11 IKH24 Denso 5346 Spark Plug

IKH24's.

Maybe it’s just a slow month anyway I’m waiting on the new harness. I’m anxious to get the AEM FIC in the truck just ask Gadget at URD I think I’ve pretty much blown up there email making sure they got the one harness and sent the other

 

No response to emails I hope they didn’t completely shutdown. I may have to start wiring to the stock harness

I'll just have to be patient. I can connect everything back to take the little boat out. I think it will make it ok

 

Walk that biscuit into a parts store, and compare it to a 3rz adapter for 100% certainty, but they look damn close.

Are you changing over to a cartridge filter?

 

Yes sir, tired of oil going all down my arm. I tried the bag method but a pain in the ass and not much better.


I removed and installed from behind the cross member without removing the pans, pretty easily. The oil change should be smooth for now on.

 

As a former Yota tech, this makes me laugh. I have burned myself far more times with those cartridges, but that was also because they were stuffed on an engine in a car, with zero room for any errors lol

You have me intrigued now, because there is a lot of room for activities in there..

What did that adapter come off of?

 

It has the new style cap with the drain, my understanding is the old school caps didn't have a drain.
Made to order, I started a FS thread. I guess I should start a thread in the 2nd Gen section to get the word out.

Most had the drain, but it was just a hole with a plug lol that is handy, but if you are flat rate in a shop, that would be a serious annoyance.

 

I'm not sure how the techs do it now
I'm using the cap from the 3rd Gen V6, so it's got a valve that opens when you push in the plastic nipple that comes with the filter. It's not so bad to push in but getting it out is a little pain, that's why I went with the screw in drain. It's quick, no mess- I like it.
