is this the vac line i hook up to a boost reference for the fpr?

 

That doesn't look like a good source since it is between the FPR and some sensor or switch.

 

thats the vent for the fpr. it tees off on that vsv. its just vented to free air now as far as i can see through the vsv filter

 

i believe you wanted to see the finished product of intercooler behind the 95-97 grill @Blackdawg

 

Sick. Nice work man! Exactly how i had envisoned it. Do you have AC? I had almost though you'd have to cut the center grill out and just use the intercooler to get a "satashoi" look.

less than those with 6 cylinders and way less than the 6 cylinders with no kits...

 

This seems like the damn truth. I feel pretty lucky to have my junk up and running so quickly compared to some of the others on here! Granted I still have PLENTY of upgrades to do (fueling, wiring, clutch, etc) but thanks to this thread I've been able to head off any issues.
But also, 4-bangers are much simpler than you V6 guys.

Were the earlier 1st generation Tacomas that much of a bitch to fit an intercooler into the grille area? I know with mine I had TONS of room when using a 27x7x2.5...

 

im using same size intercooler and it fits like it was made for the grill. literally millimeters of gap all around and it sits tight at the sides. also 98+ dont really have the space between headlight and radiator to route the piping straight through the rad support.

 

yup looks like o2 sensor is done for. its throwing a code and afrs are all over the place even when not in boost. turned the meth kit up just incase and drove it an hour to the airport. besides the afrs it runs great and sounds even better. had a hard time keeping it outa boost tbh. with a load on it ive seen 2-3psi at 2000rpm.

Anyone here run a oil timer thingy, forgot what it's called.

After shutdown it keeps oil pumping so it doesn't just sit and boil in the turbo.

 

I ran one on another turbo vehicle I had years back. It was pretty convenient to be able to pull the key out of the car, lock it up, and still have it idle to cool the turbo oil lines. With my current truck, I just drive more mellow, even coast a bit, for a few minutes before parking to let it cool down before turning it off.

My Compustar remote start has a turbo-timer built in, so once I installed my turbo I just enabled the turbo timer mode. Viper remote starts have the feature, as well.
It's also nice because it gives me a few minutes if I need to run inside quickly, I can keep the truck running and locked.
