Noooooooo!!! I found the problem. The exhaust manifold cracked right in the middle. I’ll have to get it repaired just have to figure out where and since I have to take all of that off I’d like to redo my downpipe but I wonder what would cause this. Figures though I have to get inspection this month.ABE2C2F3-48E8-419F-89C7-42AD64F07B7D.jpg DEDDC257-CC58-4626-BEED-0CB7470A2A95.jpg

Kind of hard to tell where that crack is specifically.

Do you have any support for the down-pipe, besides the manifold?

Where the arrow it pointing is where the crack is behind the flange that the turbo mounts on. I’m going to guess that the lack of support on the down pipe caused this :facepalm:FB606D2C-907A-4249-B3E4-17A082B2EC57.jpg

Add a leaf and air springs
If there's a lot of weld there, combined with the extreme heat cycling of the manifold that may have been enough to crack it.

Is this your daily? I'd be happy to help but I'm 2 hours away in Wichita Falls. Might be hard to get into that spot. Do you have a wider view of the pic of the crack? I'm trying to see if I have room to get in there for repair.

Make sure whoever repairs it is using a TIG and back purging. If you dont fo it right it will just crack again very quickly.

I messaged the guy who built it for me. It's been about 1 1/2 yrs. I told him what happened and anything he might suggest and he said just send it to him and he'll re-weld it and put a brace and send it back same day. It's not my DD anymore but I've got 3 more weeks until inspection is up.

Thanks for the offer I've been out that way quite a few times. I was going to take it off either way. I have flex pipe in the downpipe to help prevent this but I wonder if I should put some other support.:notsure:

No prob! An angle bracket from the manifold (near the turbo) to the block would work wonders for support.
That's really cool that the guy is supporting his work.
