I do know the o2 sim will delay the completion of the cat check.

Here is a comparison with the AEM plugged in and then disconnected

I wasn’t sure what to do on that since I already did the mod on the rear o2 with the resister before the sim from the Aem and so I took the one out that I got from you thinking that it was too much to have both

That’s how I pass emissions. Just disconnect the charge pipes. Never had an issue

The Cat test uses the rear o2, it will complete with the sim it just takes double or sometimes more that double the miles to complete. The resistor would be on the front 02 that is the one that controls the injectors and AFR.

I have a question about knock and the 2TR. This engine has a knock sensor already, so why do I need a Haltech that has knock control (or long term knock control)? Won't the engine already adjust timing if it senses it?

If you install a Haltech then the stock Ecu will no longer be adjusting timing, that's why the Haltech will need a Knock sensor so it can adjust timing.

Why wouldn't it, does the Haltech intercept the signal and not let it pass?

The haltech is a stand-alone ecu it would normally replace the factory one. In some situations it is left in place to control things like gauges, AC, and other accessories.

If it doesn’t have knock control it will not have an input and programming to read a stock or aftermarket knock sensor.

There is a mod that you can do on the rear o2 sensor where you put a resister so that it doesn’t throw codes and it’s been there since. When I wired the Aem I also put the o2 sim that you had with it. I was having some issues with the Aem so I took the o2 sim out to see if it would change I never put it back.

pretty sure the haltech can communicate with other knock sensors as well

I see knock sensors for sale, advertised as needed for Haltech to work properly
